The township has jurisdiction over 6 administrative villages and 55 villager groups, covering an area of 42.21 square kilometers and an altitude of 645 meters. There are 10 pure Yi groups with a total population of 9221 (2017). The township has 28000 mu of arable land, 3.4 mu of arable land per capita, and the grain output has reached 5.02 million jin.

On December 13, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Leshan City to adjust the administrative divisions of 8 counties (cities, districts) including Shizhong District (cfzm [2019] No. 20): the administrative area of Luohui village in Heping Yi township was put under the jurisdiction of Yonghe Town, and the adjusted Heping Yi Township people's government was stationed at No. 230, group 2, Yaxi village.

General situation of villages and towns

Heping Yi nationality township is located in the South Bank of Dadu River and the middle mountain valley of Jinkou River District. It is 5 km wide from east to west and 18 km long from south to north. It covers an area of 42.21 square kilometers. Heping Yi nationality township was originally under the jurisdiction of Yongle township. When the rural power was adjusted in September 1951, Heping Yi nationality township was established from Yongle township. It has jurisdiction over 6 villages and is a mixed village of Yi and Han. In July 1952, the Fifth District (Luohui United District) was set up, and Heping township was under the jurisdiction of the Fifth District. March 1956.
