History of construction

In the third year of Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty (1911), the territory of Qianwang town belonged to the first district of Dongguang County.

In 1956, Wang Xiang was founded.

In September 1958, it was a satellite commune (Qincun commune); in December of the same year, Dongguang County was withdrawn and it was a satellite commune in Jiaohe county.

In June 1961, Dongguang County resumed its organizational system, belonging to jianzhanwang commune.

In 1984, it was changed to Wangzhen.
