Aikou Town, subordinate to Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the southwest of Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, bordering Xiaoxi Township in the East, Zhongling town in the south, Songtao County in Guizhou Province in the west, Qingxichang town in the north, 25 kilometers away from the county seat of Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, with a total area of 133.57 square kilometers.
In 1938, Aikou town was named Junling township. In July 2001, Aikou town was established by merging Junling Township and tangao township. By the end of 2018, the population of the registered residence in the town was 24239. As of June 2020, Aikou town has 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of the town is stationed in the street group of Aikou community.

History of construction
In 1938, Junling township was established from PingCha township.
In February 1958, Junling township was changed into Junling commune.
In July 1983, Junling commune was restored to Junling township.
In July 2001, Junling Township and tangao Township merged to set up Aikou town.
