Xiaoyudong town

Xiaoyudong town is located in the northwest edge of Sichuan Basin and the hinterland of the upper reaches of Jianjiang River. It is 32 km away from the Northwest Mountainous Area of Pengzhou City and 72 km away from Chengdu. It is adjacent to Tongji Town in the East, Cifeng town in the south, Dujiangyan town in the west, Dabao town in the north and Xinxing town in the southeast. The average altitude ranges from 1000m to 1500m, the annual average temperature is 13 ℃, and the annual precipitation is 1100mm. Covering an area of 81.3 square kilometers, the town is mainly composed of Han nationality and four ethnic minorities, including Hui, Tibetan and Qiang. With convenient transportation, Chengdu Baishuihe highway and Pengzhou Baishuihe railway running through the territory, the construction of small towns with classical architectural style has begun to take shape. It is a highlight town on the national Longmenshan scenic spot danjingshan Yangpingguan Yinchanggou tourism line.

In December 2019, Chengdu Municipal People's government decided to abolish Xiaoyudong town.

Introduction to villages and towns

Xiaoyudong, formerly known as Bingxue, is the birthplace of the ancient Shu people. It was built in 1600 ad. a market was formed in the Kangyong period of the Qing Dynasty (1662-1734 AD). Xiaoyudong was chosen as the market town. In 1780, the town was destroyed by flood. The next year, it was rebuilt and renamed Fuxingchang. Before 1983, it was called Fuxing commune according to the change of Chinese history. It was named Xiaoyudong Township in 1983, and was newly built as Xiaoyudong town with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's Government in June 2001.

In the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, Xiaoyudong town was seriously affected. After the disaster, we should actively do a good job in reconstruction and carry out production self-help. Recently, some of the victims in Xiaoyudong zhenjiangqiao, Yudong and Danan villages have moved into Danan community resettlement sites one after another. The Danan community resettlement site, jointly built by Jiangxi Province and Chengdu high tech Zone, was officially completed on June 22. The community covers an area of more than 20 mu, with 528 temporary houses, public toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, fitness equipment and health service stations.

Xiaoyudong town is rich in mineral resources and tourism resources. It mainly produces anthracite and limestone, as well as copper, gold, iron, quartz, calcite, granite and other mineral resources. The main trees are fir, spruce, Phoebe, Cinnamomum camphora, eucalyptus, Chunya, phellodendron, eucommia, Magnolia officinalis, etc. Bamboo products are also abundant. Food crops include rice, corn, potato, wheat, soybean, sweet potato, etc. in recent years, the main economic crops are tea, Gastrodia elata, chuanxiong, eucommia, phellodendron, Magnolia officinalis and edible fungi.

Xiaoyudong town makes use of the special groundwater resources to vigorously develop cold water fish breeding since 2008. The breeding base has begun to take shape. The red trout, golden trout, three line fish and other products produced by Xiaoyudong town are sold to major cities by air and exported to earn foreign exchange.

Scenery

There is the largest waterfall group in Chengdu panlonggu waterfall group in the town. There are many waterfalls in the valley, including ancient trees, birds, flowers, gurgling water. Among them, dafeishui waterfall falls more than 100 meters, flying straight down, which is a spectacular place for exploration and sightseeing.

Earthquake relief

Zhongba village in Xiaoyudong town is located in Longmen mountain range, only one mountain away from Wenchuan. In the 5.12 earthquake, Zhongba village was also seriously affected, a large number of houses collapsed and a large area of landslides. In the face of the sudden disaster, many villagers are unprepared. After the disaster, with the help of the government, the basic material needs of the villagers have been met. However, how to appease the injured hearts of the villagers, enrich the cultural life of the villagers and enhance the cohesion of the villagers has become a top priority. Based on this demand, with the active advocacy and efforts of the protection station and the Shanshui nature reserve center, and with the assistance of AEA, Zhongba tent culture center was established, which is the first post disaster cultural construction center in the reserve.

The authorities said that this means that more than 800 households in Caoba village will bid farewell to the tents, move into new houses and start a new life after more than 40 days of disaster.

In addition, a total of 769 transitional board houses were handed over to the local government on the same day in the three resettlement sites of Hongyan town wodian, longjiu and waste cement plant aided by Chengdu high tech Zone and Jiangxi Province. More than 600 households were resettled in the three resettlement sites. The contents include: organizing to watch movies and TV, such as watching the movies of Daba and watching the Olympic programs, bringing the villagers together to watch movies, creating an atmosphere, enhancing the communication among the villagers, and eliminating the shadow of the earthquake in their hearts; in addition, providing the villagers with a channel to understand the external information.

Set up book corner

The practical effect of book corner in enriching the cultural life of villagers is very obvious. Every day, many children and villagers come to the cultural center to read books and newspapers.

Cultural propaganda newspaper

On August 3, Zhongba tent culture propaganda newspaper was founded, which will be renamed Xiaoyudong culture propaganda newspaper. In order to make a cultural propaganda in Xiaoyudong Town, improve the villagers' quality and environmental awareness, and also train middle school students to improve their communicative and writing skills. This small reporter station has recruited more than ten middle school students from each village of Xiaoyudong town as members of the reporter station, including a chief editor, two reviewers, a reporter group leader and several reporters. Every issue of the newspaper will be posted to each village, so that every villager can see, and reflect very well, the villagers can timely understand some of the practical news in the village.

In 2008, there have been three phases. The main contents of these two phases are about prefabricated houses, permanent housing construction policy, Olympic Games and environmental protection. From the feedback we collected, the government leaders believe that it can promote rural harmony, unite the people's hearts, encourage everyone to produce and make a living. They believe that our newspaper will not only affect the whole village, but also the whole town, and even a wider range. Many villagers watched the performance and thought that Xiaoyudong town also had its own newspaper, which was run by children themselves.
