Shadong town is located in the east of the central and southern part of Beiliu City. It is a new town divided from Xinfeng Town in 1987. It was withdrawn in July 1994. The town has 9 villager committees and 157 villager groups. The land area is 85.0764 square kilometers, and the population density is 340 people per square kilometer.
