Liushan town

Liushan town is located in the northwest of Liunan District, Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 35 kilometers away from Liuzhou city. It borders Luoman town in the southeast, Tubo town in Liujiang District in the southwest, Sancha town in Yizhou District of Hechi City, Mashan Township and shechong Township in Liucheng County in the northwest. With an area of 146.71 square kilometers, the town has jurisdiction over Liushan community, Liushan, Liutang, Dashi, Guangrong, Zhenglan, Xinlong and Xinai administrative villages and 78 natural villages. By the end of 2017, the permanent resident population was 22234.

Evolution of organizational system

In 1987, Liushan township was established after it was separated from Luoman township.

On December 28, 1999, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 217) agreed to change Liushan Township into a town system, with the original administrative region unchanged.

According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Liujiang county is 523300. Among them: 19183 people in Liushan town.

In March 2016, the State Council agreed to abolish Liujiang county and establish Liujiang District of Liuzhou city. Liushan town belongs to Liujiang district.

In May 2019, the reply of the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on agreeing to adjust some administrative divisions of Liuzhou City (GZH [2019] No. 56) adjusted the administrative divisions of Liujiang district and Liunan District, and put Liushan town and Luoman town of Liujiang district under the jurisdiction of Liunan district.

Liushan town has an asphalt road leading directly to Liujiang district and Liuzhou City, and a new Tuliu road is connected with Tubo town. There are two railway stations, Liutang and Gengcun, which are 23 km away from the entrance of Yiliu Expressway and 14 km away from the entrance of Luorong Luoman expressway. The Longjiang river flows through three village committees, namely Dashi, Liutang and Liushan. Ships can reach Sancha town of Yizhou city. The water and land transportation is very convenient.

Hydropower resources

The territory is rich in water and power resources. Zhenglan River and Xinlong River converge with Fengji River, flow through Guangrong River, Liutang River and Liushan River, and then flow into Longjiang river. There are two hydropower stations with an installed capacity of 600 kW and one 35 KVA substation. All villages in the town are connected to highways. The program-controlled telephone signal covers 76 natural villages in the town. Three mobile communication signal repeater stations are built to basically realize the connection of mobile communication signals.

Characteristic agriculture

1. Planting mulberry and raising silkworm. At the beginning of 2002, Liushan town began to develop mulberry planting and silkworm rearing. By 2005, the mulberry garden area has reached nearly 10000 mu. From the end of 2005 to the beginning of 2006, the mulberry garden area in Liushan town will be expanded to more than 13000 mu.

2. Green bamboo fish. Bambusa oldhami, whose scientific name is Spinibarbus inversus, is a freshwater fish. It is difficult to breed artificially. It is only natural propagation to catch fry and raise them in cages. The growth rate is slow. It takes about 2-3 years to grow into adult fish and catch them for sale. Green bamboo fish is a rare freshwater fish food with tender, smooth and delicate meat and delicious taste. There are more than 360 cages in Dashi village, Liushan Town, Liujiang County, with an annual output of 310 tons of green bamboo fish.

3. Edible fungi. Liushan town is located in the transition zone from south subtropics to middle tropics, which belongs to semi plain and semi mountain area. The annual average temperature is 19.8c, and the temperature and humidity are suitable for the growth of edible fungi. Since the mass planting was launched in 2000, it has formed a development scale integrating self-made strains, sales and technical training, planting 300000 square meters (bags) of edible fungi annually and producing more than 1100 tons of fresh fungi.

4. Castration. Liushan castrated chicken is naturally raised and fed with cereals without additives and feed. It has always won the favor of the majority of buyers because of its big size, bright hair, tender meat and fragrant taste. It is a good chicken for gifts and food during the Spring Festival. The annual output of castrated chickens is more than 65000.

Investigation and research

On the morning of May 10, Wu Hua, vice chairman of the Liuzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, vice chairman of the Guangxi District Committee of the democratic construction, and chairman of the Liuzhou Municipal Committee of the democratic construction, led a group of 11 people to Liushan town of Liujiang County for investigation and visit.

Liushan town is the poverty alleviation contact point of Vice Chairman Wu Hua as the leader of the city since 2012, and it is also the contact point of Liuzhou Municipal Committee of the people's Construction Corporation of China actively responding to the United Front Department of the Municipal Committee to build the United Front "concentric project" to create a brand. Liushan town is located in the northwest of Liujiang County, 35 kilometers away from Liuzhou city and 45 kilometers away from the county seat. Afterwards, the research group went to Zhenglan village of Liushan Town, listened to the report of the leaders of the village committee of Zhenglan village, and visited Wei Fuchuan, a poor family in the village. When hearing about the difficult situation of Wei Fuchuan's family, Chairman Wu Hua took the initiative to offer his 500 yuan as a gift to express his sympathy.

At the conclusion of the survey, Chairman Wu Hua said: Liushan town is the poorest town in Liujiang County, and Zhenglan village is the poorest village in Liushan town. This is the first time we have encountered such a difficult situation.
