Tangchi Town, belonging to Tailai County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the north of Tailai County. In 1913, Tangchi Town belonged to the Second District of Longjiang County; in August 1995, it was changed from Tangchi township to Tangchi town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of Tong Chi town was 17758. In 2019, Tangchi Town governs 5 communities and 8 administrative villages, and the people's government is located at No. 1, Tangchi street, Tangchi town.

History of construction
In 1913, it belonged to the Second District of Longjiang County. In 1915, it was the first district of Longjiang County. In 1937, it belonged to houyiliba and huotuoqi villages. In 1939, it was called houyiliba village. In 1946, it was the Fifth District of Longdong county. In 1948, it was the Tenth District of Longjiang County.
In September 1954, it was assigned to the 11th district of Tailai County.
In September 1958, it belonged to Daxing commune.
In February 1962, Tangchi commune was established.
In 1967, it was renamed Xianfeng commune.
In 1970, Xianfeng commune was renamed Tangchi commune.
In March 1984, Tangchi commune was transformed into Tangchi township.
In August 1995, Tangchi township was transformed into Tangchi town.

History and culture
During the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, a herdsman surnamed Wu often came here to graze and found a pond which was not frozen all the year round. Later, together with a herdsman surnamed Zhu, he settled here and named it "Tangchi", which means "spring eye" or "endless spring". Houtangchi is written as Tangchi, which means "endless spring".
