Tanghong Township, belonging to Shanglin County, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the north of Shanglin County, adjacent to Qiaoxian town in the East, Sanli town in the south, Xiyan town and Zhenwei Yao Township in the west, and Gupeng Town, Xincheng County, Laibin City in the north. Tanghong township has an administrative area of 185 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 43986 people registered residence in Tong Hong township.
In 1952, Tanghong township was changed into Tanghong district. In 1958, tanghong commune was established. In 1961, tanghong commune was changed into Tanghong district. In 1969, Tanghong district was changed into tanghong commune. In 1984, tanghong commune was changed into Tanghong township. In 1987, Tanghong township was set up as Zhongke township. In 2005, Tanghong township was merged with Zhongke township. As of June 2020, Tanghong township has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 10 administrative villages. The Township People's government is stationed in Hongxu, Tangyang.
