Jiuxiang town

Jiuxiang Town, known as Hanyuan street and Hanyuan farm in ancient times, has a long history and developed agriculture and commerce. It is the economic and cultural center of Hanyuan County, the national corridor connecting ya, Gan and Liang, and the material distribution center of Shangfu.

Jiuxiang town of Hanyuan County is located in the Dadu River Basin in Southwest Sichuan, with an average altitude of 1400 meters. It is 80 kilometers away from Ya'an City in the north and 22 kilometers away from Hanyuan County in the south. More than 50 kilometers away from Chengdu Kunming railway, Yaxi Expressway and national highway 108 pass through the town from north to south, with convenient transportation. The town governs 17 villages and 4 communities with a total population of 48521 (2017). It is the most populous town in Ya'an, the key town of Commerce and trade in Sichuan Province, and the key town of 100 towns in Sichuan Province. The town area is 85.99 square kilometers, and the per capita net income of farmers is 8675 yuan (2014).

Jiuxiang has a town history of 2100 years with strong history and culture. It has cultural landscapes such as Jiuxiang stone archway, fojing mountain, Jinshan Temple and Baima park. From March to April every year, ten thousand mu of pear blossom is in full bloom, attracting tens of thousands of tourists, and the tourism income is nearly ten million yuan.

On December 11, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Ya'an City to adjust the administrative divisions of some townships (cfzm [2019] No. 14): Datian Township and Shuangxi Township were canceled, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Jiuxiang town. Historical evolution

In the early Han Dynasty, it was governed by Shenli county and yak county. Hanyuan township was first established in Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty. Jiuxiang town was built in 1950, changed into commune in 1958, and resumed in 1992. It used to be the resident of Hanyuan County People's government, and the resident of Hanyuan County People's government was moved from Hanyuan farm to Fulin town.

Urban construction

Jiuxiang town is one of the first batch of 100 small town construction pilot towns in the whole province. Since the start of small town construction in 1993, it has invested 500 million yuan (100 million of which is infrastructure construction) for construction. The urban area has expanded from 1.3 square kilometers to 2.5 square kilometers, and the urban population has increased from 10000 to 25000. In 2002, it was listed as 101 key towns of small town construction by the provincial government. Now it is re planning according to the scale of 10 square kilometers and 100000 people to cope with the new development opportunities of Pubugou Hydropower Station Construction and ya'an-panzhihua expressway. In May 2002, the Party committee of Jiuxiang town was elected by the provincial Party committee as an advanced member of the Standing Committee for the study and education activities of the important thought of "Three Represents" in rural areas and the "three level joint innovation" activities of the construction of rural grassroots organizations. Jiuxiang is located in the transition zone between Southwest Sichuan Plateau and Sichuan Basin. It has a long history and is the largest town in Ya'an City in terms of population and tax revenue. Jiuxiang is surrounded by mountains and rivers. It has four distinct seasons. It is hot in summer and cold in winter. It is foggy in the middle and high mountains and sunny in the valley. Gongjiao, Sydney, soybean and other traditional green food are famous in Southwest China. since the reform and opening up, the grain production has remained stable, the output of economic crops such as fruits and garlic moss has increased year by year, and the income of farmers has increased. 80% of the farmers have newly built small foreign buildings, motor vehicles and telephones, with more than 50% of the households entering, and 96% of the households entering motor vehicles and closed-circuit television. The infrastructure has been gradually improved. As one of the first 100 pilot towns in the province, the urban area has expanded from 1.3 square kilometers to 2.5 square kilometers in 10 years. Food processing enterprises and building decoration materials factories have sprung up in the new area.

Jiuxiang owns Sichuan Hanyuan No.1 middle school, which was founded in 1824 as a "century famous school". The whole archway integrates the Sichuan Opera Art of ancient Chinese opera into one. According to the theme of "loyalty, filial piety, chastity and righteousness", 48 traditional Sichuan Opera are carved. There are 169 reliefs and more than 570 large and small figures, either alone or in a group, but they are all natural and real, with clear features and different postures. The architectural form of the whole stone archway is very peculiar, highlighting the integration of local culture and Buddhist culture. Although it looks unique and novel, it fully reflects the ancient culture's remoteness and the Chinese nation's virtue of inclusiveness.
