Jiushi town

Jiushi town is located in the North Bank of the middle reaches of Xijiang River in the central part of western Guangdong Province. It is a subordinate town of Deqing County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. It is 22 kilometers away from the county in the West and 70 kilometers away from Zhaoqing City in the East. Xijiang waterway, highway and national highway 321 all pass through the town, with convenient transportation. The town covers an area of 154.61 square kilometers (2017), including 1.18 square kilometers of polder Town, 15000 mu of cultivated land and 134453 mu of mountainous area. It has jurisdiction over 14 village committees, including Shangdong village, Jiushi village, Fuhao village, Gao Village, latou village, Ganli village, Jiuwei village, Dongliao village, Liucun village, Shangcun village, Jiangwei village, Lanshan village, yunlang village and Liuchong village, 1 neighborhood committee, 98 natural villages, with a population of 28093 (2017), and 2811 permanent residents in Weizhen.

Agriculture

The basic position of agriculture has been continuously strengthened, and agricultural industrialization has been steadily promoted. So far, seven agricultural commodity bases have been built, covering a total area of 128000 mu. Among them, there are 12000 mu of high-quality grain, 18100 mu of high-quality fruit, 3500 mu of vegetables, 30000 mu of Yugui, 2500 mu of sericulture, 50000 mu of pine forest and 2000 mu of aquatic products. The famous specialty products of Jiushi town include cinnamon, sericulture, Nanhua plum, Shangdong radish, etc., which are well-known both inside and outside the province. Shangdong radish is planted in Xijiang River beach, juicy and slag free, and has the reputation of "Xijiang ginseng".

Industry

After the development in recent years, there are 28 township enterprises in the town, with an annual tax profit of more than 3 million yuan, forming three pillar enterprises: fan manufacturing, artificial plywood processing and stone processing. Among them, Ganli artificial plywood factory and Jiuzhou fan factory have become the two backbone enterprises of the town. The annual output value of the two enterprises is more than 10 million yuan, and the tax paid is more than 600000 yuan.

The town is rich in granite, limestone, white mud and other natural mineral resources. There are eight major granite quarries, four of which have not yet been developed. The total storage capacity of granite waiting for development is about 230 million cubic meters. Most of the quarries are accessible by trucks of more than 5 tons. The distance from national highway 321 to the quarries is only 800 meters near and less than 10 kilometers away. There are three main reserves of porcelain sand. The temperature of porcelain sand is about 1100 ℃, and the total storage capacity of porcelain sand waiting for mining is about 2100 million tons.

Sanzhouyan, located in Sanzhou village of the town, is 13 kilometers away from longmuzu temple in Yuecheng in the East, 30 kilometers away from the county seat in the west, and faces yun'an County of Yunfu City across the river in the south. Sanzhouyan is named after the meaning of Penglai's third continent. The stone cave in the rock is open, with thousands of scenes. The dragon mother is bathed in the Holy Spirit. It is the place where the celebrities of all ages recite poems and express their aspirations. In song and Ming Dynasties alone, there were 174 inscriptions and 190 inscriptions. Su Dongpo, Zhou Dunyi, Li Gang, Chen Baisha and other celebrities and sages all engraved the inscriptions for sanzhouyan. The dictionary of Chinese places of interest compiled in recent years also listed sanzhouyan as a national place of interest. In sanzhouyan, there used to be an academy called Lianxi Academy (also known as sanzhouguanyin Temple). According to records, the Academy was built in the Qing Dynasty. It was a place for lecturing and studying at that time. It was specially set up for the imperial examination. Teachers are generally hired famous, highly respected Bachelor of Arts. Lianxi is named after the founder of the Academy. In the 1980s, Deqing cement plant was in urgent need of stones for production and construction, and the quality of sanzhouyan stones was better. Therefore, the stones of this rock were blasted to supply the cement plant in the county, and the Lianxi academy, sanzhouguanyin temple, located in this rock, was also demolished. In the 1990s, local villagers, Yunfu, Liudu and others donated money and materials for restoration.
