Lishui Town

Lishui town is located in the northeast of Nanhai District, in the hinterland of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, close to Guangzhou, more than 10 kilometers south of Foshan City. With an area of 148.28 square kilometers and a total population of 435998 (2017), it has 16 village committees, 20 communities and 33 villager groups.

Li Shui town has been awarded the title of "national health town", "beautiful township of the whole country", "strong education town of Guangdong province", "Guangdong ecological demonstration town", "Guangdong Green Town", "Guangdong livable town", "China's famous sock town", "China perfume lily" and "national safety community". In 2015, it was named as an international safe community by the World Health Organization, won the title of civilized town in Guangdong Province, and ranked 11th among the top 100 scientific development towns in China. Historical evolution

Lishui town was divided into two districts around 1949, eight districts in 1950, Lishui District in 1957, and Heshun community in 1958. Later, it was renamed many times and built in 1986. In 2005, the administrative division of Nanhai District was adjusted, and Lishui town and Heshun town were merged to form a new Lishui town.
