Liangkou town

Liangkou Town, a national key town, is located in the northeast of Conghua District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It is 25 kilometers away from the central city of Conghua. National Highway G105 and G45 Daguang Expressway run through the whole area, and the central part connects with provincial highway 354. The town covers an area of 439.15 square kilometers (in 2017), under the jurisdiction of 27 administrative villages and a community.

During the reign of emperor Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1661), Panyu merchants set up Liangxing and Liangyuan shops in the town to do business. Later, they gradually developed into fairs and named Liangkou because they were located at the confluence of Liuxi River and Dashui river.

Liangkou commune was established in 1958, changed into a district in 1983 and built into a town in 1986.
