Historical evolution
Laer mountain is a remote mountain Miao Township in Fenghuang, Western Hunan, two hours' drive from Fenghuang ancient city. The laershan platform has been the core area where the Miao people live in the border areas of Hunan, Guizhou and Sichuan (Chongqing) since ancient times. This is where the fuse of the historical "war of decline in the Qing Dynasty" and the "Qianjia Miao uprising" was ignited. Laershan is a relatively stable Miao inhabited area gradually formed since the Tang and Song dynasties. The Miao people in Western Hunan are centered on the "laershan Miao" in Western Hunan. They still retain the characteristics of simplicity, ruggedness and obstinacy, diligence, tenacity and hatred for evil. I remember Shen Congwen's article once said: the mystery of Western Hunan is only in this area, which is not easy to understand and worth understanding. Is mount laer really a mountain of romance and seriousness, beauty and cruelty, love and resentment?
