Xiaoqiu town

Xiaoqiu Town, subordinate to Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the northwest of Yaozhou District, bordering Potou town in the East, Sanyuan County of Xianyang City in the south, Chunhua County of Xianyang City in the West and Zhaojin town in the north, with a total area of 156 square kilometers.

As of June 2020, Xiaoqiu town has 16 administrative villages. In 2018, 31401 households registered residence in Xiao Qiu. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Xiaoqiu town was 169 million yuan, and the total industrial output value was 510 million yuan. The total sales of social goods reached 9460 yuan.

Historical evolution

It got its name because the town government was stationed in Xiaoqiu village.

In October 1949, Xiaoqiu township was established.

In September 1958, the commune was established, with 22 production teams under its jurisdiction.

In December 1958, it was assigned to Tongchuan City.

In August 1961, it returned to Yaoxian County, with 14 production teams under its jurisdiction.

In April 1982, it had jurisdiction over 15 production brigades.

In September 1997, it was changed into a town.

In November 2002, baigua township was abolished and merged into Xiaoqiu Town, governing 25 administrative villages.

Qiao shining, who once served as an inspector of Huguang, a member of Henan's Political Department, an official of Sichuan, and wrote Yao Zhou Zhi, a famous chronicle of Shaanxi in Ming Dynasty, is a member of Xiaoqiu people. Xiduzhong village in the town has the Palace site of the Western Han Dynasty, a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level.

Yigong site

Located in xiduzhong village, Xiaoqiu Town, Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, the site is about 2500 meters from east to west and 3000 meters from north to south. It is adjacent to Zhuoyu River in the East and Qingyu River in the West. A large number of building materials such as rope pattern tile, rope pattern tube tile, hollow brick and Huiwen square brick are preserved on the surface. There is rammed earth platform in the west of the village, which is 4 meters high, 52 meters long from north to South and 12 meters wide from east to west. The thickness of rammed earth varies from 5 cm to 11 cm. The villagers found fragments of tiles when they were farming.
