Luoping town
Luoping town is located in the middle of Luoding City, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province, on the southern edge of Luoding Jingchuan basin. It is 111 ° 33 ′ E and 22 ° 36 ′ n, bordering on Sulong street, Weidi town and Shengjiang town in the north, and Taiping Town, Lianzhou Town, Luojing town and Chuanbu town in the East and south. Luoping town is flat, mostly plain and low hilly land, with soft and fertile soil. Historical evolution
Luoping town is located on the land of luopang. It belonged to Luoping County during the reign of Jianyuan and Yongming (480-493) of the Southern Qi Dynasty. It is said that Luoping is named because it is surrounded by mountains and flat in the middle.
From the sixth year of Kaibao in the Song Dynasty (973) to the fourth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1576), it was under the jurisdiction of Longshui county.
From 1577 to the end of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Luoding Prefecture.
In the early years of the Republic of China, it belonged to the four capitals and three districts of Luoding county. In 1935, it was reorganized into the fourth district.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was the Fifth District of Luoding County in 1950. In 1958, Luoping people's commune was established. In August 1983, it was withdrawn from the district and Luoping town was established in November 1986.
Luoping is an old revolutionary town. Hengdong village, Shatou, Luoping, was once the site of the 14th regiment of Dongjiang guerrillas. Archaeologists excavated military supplies from Hutou mountain in Hengdong during the Warring States period.
