Konggushu township is located in the east of Sangzhi County, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. It is 16 kilometers away from the county seat and 10 kilometers away from zhangsang expressway. S305 sangci highway runs through the whole area, and is an important connection point of Pan Zhangjiajie tourism circle.

Origin of township name

In the early years, the empty shell tree was originally named zhuyuanping. Later, because there was a big hollow tree with a diameter of 2 meters in the flat, it was renamed empty shell tree.

administrative division

Before the founding of new China, it belonged to Daquan Township, chenjiaping Township in 1952, Liaoyuan people's commune in 1958, empty shell tree, ZOUMAPING and guhu people's communes were established in 1961, township system was restored in 1984, empty shell Tree Township was merged into Ruitapu Bai Township in 1995, and original township system was restored in 1998 through zoning adjustment. In 2016, the original 14 villages under its jurisdiction were merged into 9 administrative villages, including air force, chenjiaping, tangxiyu, Huxing, Longhushan, Lianhuatai, BAIMAQUAN, Luojiaping and badouqiao, with a total of 138 villager groups, a total of 5552 households and a total population of 15785. There are four nationalities: Tujia, Bai, Miao and Han, of which Tujia accounts for 80%.

Overview

The total area of the township is 68.63 square kilometers, with 9097 mu of cultivated land, including 6688 mu of paddy field, 2409 mu of dry land and more than 71000 mu of forest land. Empty shell Tree Township is rich in tobacco, Camellia oleifera, vegetables, medicinal materials and other agricultural industries. Coal reserves are relatively rich, including Tuanjie coal mine and Shijiawan quarry. The animal husbandry is dominated by giant salamander, wild boar and porcupine. Traditional processing agricultural products include bacon, wild boar meat, sausage and so on.

Konggushu township is located in the east of Sangzhi County. The township government is located in the Guihua group of the air force village. It is 16 km away from the county seat and 10 km away from zhangsang expressway. It is adjacent to ZOUMAPING Bai Township in the East, Ruitapu town in the west, mahekou Bai Township and furongqiao Bai Township in the north, Zhonghu Township and Tianzishan town in Wulingyuan District in the south. S305 sangci highway runs through the whole area, connecting the two tourist highways from Tianzishan to zhuyeping and Ruitapu to Zhonghu under construction. It is close to Wulingyuan core scenic spot and connects Liuhong scenic spot. It highlights the strategic location advantage of Zhangjiajie West Route tourism, with convenient transportation. It is an important connecting point of Pan Zhangjiajie tourism circle.
