Santangjie town
Santangjie town belongs to Taojiang County, Yiyang City, Hunan Province. It is located in the northwest of Taohuajiang Town, Taojiang County. It is surrounded by one county and five townships. It borders Xiushan town in the northeast and huangnaiao is the dividing line. It borders Zhanxi in the East, Daligang and qiobu in the southeast, Wutan in the southwest, DONGYUEMIAO Township and Sanhe Township in Hanshou County, Changde City in the northwest and due north. In 2014, the town has a total area of 173 square kilometers, 18 administrative villages and one community, with a total population of more than 63200.
In 2011, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town was 726.6 million yuan, and the total sales of social goods was 100 million yuan.
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Santangjie town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.

During the period of the Republic of China, the town was Sanshan township of Yiyang County (but not heshuiqiao, Xiushan town).
In October 1949, the town was under the jurisdiction of district ll of Yiyang County.
In 1950, the township was divided into townships and towns, which belong to the 11th district of Yiyang County.
On February 16, 1952, Taojiang was separated from Yiyang County and set up as the fourth district. At that time, the four districts also governed wujiazhou and yangquanwan townships until 1956.
In 1953, it was called Santang block.
In 1958, it was called red flag people's commune.
In 1959, it was changed into Santang street people's commune.

In January 1959, Santang street people's commune had 19 brigades and 625 teams. The name of each brigade is: jingzhujie, heshuiqiao, longjiazao, longyaping, huaqiaoping, dawushan, Baoshi village, guojiazhou, Renmin dam, hulianping, huangjinba, Jiufeng, songmuji, wuqishan, tianzilun, dawuwan, Chitang, Wangmu village and Santang street.
In April 1961, Santang District Office governed four communes, 53 production teams, 627 production teams and four communes, namely wuqishan commune, Santang Street commune, heshuiqiao commune and hulianping commune.
In February 1984, the county implemented the separation of government and society and restored the Township People's government. The four communes under the jurisdiction of Santang District Office were changed into wuqishan Township, heshuiqiao Township, Santangjie Township and hulianping Township, with 51 administrative villages and 627 villager groups.
On November 20, 1995, the office of Santang street was abolished, and the four townships under its jurisdiction were adjusted to wuqishan as an independent Township, and Santang street, heshuiqiao and hulianping as Santang street town.
In 2006, 24 townships in the county were merged into 15 townships. The former wuqishan independent Township and the former Santangjie town were merged into new Santangjie Town, which has jurisdiction over 52 administrative villages, one community, 625 villager groups, 3 neighborhood committees and 9 resident groups.
In 2008, the county expanded the scope of administrative villages, and the original 52 administrative villages and Santang street market towns in the town were adjusted to 18 administrative villages, 1 community and 386 villager groups.

Although it is a town, it has two days, with hujiaao as the boundary. In Santangjie area to the south of hujiaao, at the end of autumn, early winter and early spring every year, when it is still foggy and dewy, Chitang village and Wangmu village to the north are already sunny. The daily sunshine in the north is at least 1.5 hours longer than that in Santangjie area to the south, and the temperature difference is also very large.

Santangjie town is located in the geological belt of Anhua yangjiaotang inclining to Xiushan. There are three kinds of landforms in the town: first, longjiazao, hulianping, Jiufeng, Santang street, Zhoujiawan, wuqishan to Qili boundary are in plain state; second, Chitang, Wangmu village, heshuiqiao, Santang street, longtouba, hills crisscross with fields; third, jingzhujie, Wangu village, Huatang Songmuji, tianzilun, hujiaao and Qilijie are in the state of hillock. The town terrain is mainly hilly, the highest point on the ground is Wufeng mountain, with an altitude of 325 meters.
