Xinji Town is subordinate to Nanzheng District, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the northwest of Nanzheng District, bordering xieshui town in the East, Lianshui town and Lianghe town in the south, Fuchuan town in Mianxian County in the west, and Renshui town in the north. Its total area is 131.89 square kilometers.
There is one Jinhua Temple site and one Zhenshen Cave Scenic Spot in Xinji Town.
As of June 2020, the new town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 27 administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the new town had 62720 registered residence. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of the new town reached 220 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 268 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 160 million yuan.
Historical evolution
The original name of Shaheji was changed to Xinji in the late Qing Dynasty.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of dehuali, Xixiang County, surrounded by Baocheng County, which was called an enclave at that time.
In 1936, the village was under the jurisdiction of Lianshui Lianbao.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it was transferred to Shuinan township of Baocheng county and turned into the residence of Xinji Town.
After October 1949, it belonged to Baocheng county.
From 1958 to 1961, it belonged to Hanzhong City.
In 1961, it was assigned to Nanzheng County. Since then, it has been the residence of Xinji district government and township government (commune).
In 1988, it was changed into an established town.
In 1996, five townships of Jiaoshan, yinjiaba, Wangping, Huashan and Wanchang were merged.
