Shataping Township

Shataping township is located in the northwest of Sangzhi County, which is the second largest township in inner half county. Our township has a vast territory, convenient transportation, rich products, mineral resources, peanuts, Camellia oleifera, animal husbandry resources are more prominent, known as the "hometown of peanuts" and "hometown of Camellia oleifera", township enterprises have grain and oil processing, farm tools repair and other factories.

Economic overview

It mainly produces rice, corn and potato. It has the largest fluorite and barite deposits in the county, the largest beef cattle trading market and peanut purchasing market in inner half of the county, and radiates to more than 10 townships in three surrounding counties, such as Longshan and Hefeng. The township government is located in nongkezhan village, 45 kilometers away from the county seat. The terrain of shataping township is high around and low in the middle. It is 19 kilometers long from east to west and 13.2 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 132.5 square kilometers. There are many hills and depressions in the territory, and the climate is quite different. The highest altitude is 1310m at Jiulongshan, and the lowest altitude is 360m at dawankou.
