Tangwei Street

Tangwei street, originally a town system, was transformed into a street in 2002. It is a town street integrating urban and rural areas under the jurisdiction of Wuchuan City, Guangdong Province. It is adjacent to Meilu in the East, Wuyang town and Zhenwen town in the west, Jianjiang in the north and Nanhai in the south. The coastline is 3.8 km long, and the river coastline is 3.2 km long. National Road g325 and provincial road S373 are connected into a "herringbone" shape, running through the whole Tangwei area. Tangwei street in November 1949 belongs to the third district of Wuchuan county (Wuyang).

May 1952 is the Fourth District of Wuchuan County.

In April 1957, it belonged to Yinling township.

In 1961, it belonged to Yinling commune.

After 1963, Yinling commune and Wuyang commune joined hands.

In May 1975, the former Yinling commune was separated from Wuyang commune and Tangwei commune was established.

In 1983, Tangwei commune was changed into district.

In January 1987, the district was removed to build a town.

March 1997: Tangwei village committee area, Tangwei village Xindi village and other 15 villages and some villages in Dashanjiang town set up seaside streets.

Tangmei district is located in the Midwest of Wuchuan City, adjacent to the urban area of Wuchuan City, with Jianjiang River in the north and the South China Sea.

Tangmei area is mainly sandy soil and loess land. The rocks are buried in a deeper place, generally 5-6 meters underground. The south coast of tangmei district is sandy land, and the north part is alluvial sandy land of Jianjiang River. There are a few tidal flats along the coast of tangmei district.

Scenic spots and historic sites

"Tongsi Chuihong" is one of the eight scenic spots in Wuchuan, which generally refers to the "eight ancient scenic spots in Wuchuan". Located in Qiuwu, Tangwei street, the original bridge, named Chuihong, is the main passage from Wuyang to Meilu. It is also known as Tongsi bridge because of the traffic for many years. Humanistic culture

Mai Weiyi (1695-1762), whose name is Fenglai, was born in maiwu. Because of the delicious dog meat, he ranked the sixth, so he was called the sixth father of Chigou, the year-old Gongsheng of Qianlong. He is resourceful, brave, talented and quick. He dares to fight against corrupt officials, and opposes feudal superstition and deceiving the masses. There are many stories about him among the people. Guangdong farmer's daily and resourceful biography have published a lot of stories about him. In May 1984, the Institute of literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held a national seminar on smart people in Xianning City, Hubei Province. A total of 380 smart people were selected in the national seminar. Guangdong ranked eighth, and Wuchuan's six father dog ranked first.

Mai Guoshu (1699-1766) was born in maiwu. He was a scholar in the 54th year of Emperor Kangxi and twelve scholars in the Jiazi family in the 9th year of Emperor Qianlong. He was bestowed with the Hanlin academy and served in the Hanlin Academy. He was appointed to teach in the East Palace and specially instructed in the East. Later, Emperor Qianlong returned home in good clothes and ordered Gaozhou government to allocate money to build a grand ancestral hall, and the emperor granted a plaque of "Qi Nian suxue". The plaque is now in the Mais ancestral hall.

At present, there are 13 primary schools with 3563 students and 195 in-service staff; there are two middle schools with 2458 students and 122 in-service staff.
