Nanbei town
Nanbei Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Shimen County, Changde City, Hunan Province, was formerly known as langbandeng, also known as Nanbei dun. It belonged to the land of Wuxi and Sanman in ancient times. Located on the border of Hunan and Hubei, it borders on Hupingshan town and Luoping Township in the East, Zouma town and tielu town in Hefeng County of Hubei Province in the south, Wuli Township in Hefeng County of Hubei Province in the west, and Dongfengshan management area and Hupingshan town in Shimen County in the north. It has a total population of 6900 (2017) and a total area of 144.28 square kilometers (2017).
Nanbei town is located in the northwest frontier of Shimen County. It is the main channel connecting Northern Hunan and Western Hubei. It is the traffic throat of Hefeng and Wufeng from Hubei to Hunan. The market towns are mainly developed along both sides of the Shihe line of the transit highway, connecting with the North Town management area of zouma Town, Hefeng County, Hubei Province, forming a unique pattern of two towns and one street across the two provinces. Because of its geographical advantage of "one street across two provinces", it was identified as "one of the eight provincial border towns" in the 1990s.
In 2013, Nanbei town won the title of "national ecological township"; in 2014, Nanbei town won the titles of "China's longevity town" and "Changde civilized township".
History of construction
In the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, there was a small stream at the junction of the northwest of Nanbei town and Hubei Province. There was an important road leading to Hubei and a big willow tree. It was less than one meter away from the ground. Pedestrians liked to sit on the willow tree to enjoy the cool air and drink water in the stream, so it was named lazy bench. Later, it was falsely called north-south pier, which got its name. at the end of the Republic of China, Nanzhen was under the jurisdiction of Shasha Township Office. At the beginning of liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of the eighth district. Nanzhen township was established in 1956. In 1958, it was renamed Nanzhen people's commune, under the jurisdiction of Shazi district office. In 1993, Nanzhen township was renamed as Nanbei town.

By the end of 2013, Nanbei town had jurisdiction over Nanzhen community, heituyan community, panping village, qingguandu village, Xuejia village, Yaji village, Dacheng village and Jinhe village, 19 resident groups and 125 villager groups. The government is located in Nanzhen community.

The center of Nanbei town is located at 110 ° 32 ′ 42 ″ E and 29 ° 52 ′ 14 ″ n. In Nanbei Town, mountain streams and small rivers are densely distributed, with large water level drop and waterfalls everywhere. The main rivers are Qianhe, Houhe, jinjiahe and Xiahe, with a flow of 40 km and a drainage area of 110 square kilometers. In Nanbei Town, there is Longmen River, the birthplace of the first-class tributary of Lishui River, which is located on the hillside of the cliff in the west of Jinhe village. Qianhe river originates from heituyan neighborhood committee, flows through Nanzhen neighborhood committee, Yaji, qingguandu and Xuejia, and flows into Lishui river through shuawu and liutou of Hupingshan. The Houhe river flows through Dacheng, Santai and Jinhe and joins Dishui.
