Houkou Township, belonging to Ningjin County, Xingtai City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Ningjin County, bordering Xinhe County and Jizhou city in the East, Dongwang town in the southwest, jiajiakou town in the West and jichangzhuang Township in the north. It is 22 kilometers away from Ningjin County People's government, with a total area of 58.26 square meters.
During the period of the Republic of China, houkou township was located in the south of Ningjin County; in January 1984, it was changed from houkou commune to houkou township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Hou Kou township was 28876. As of June 2020, houkou village has 12 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is stationed in houkou village.

History of construction
During the period of the Republic of China, houkou Township belonged to the Southern District of Ningjin County.
In June 1950, it belonged to four districts.
In September 1958, it belonged to Dongwang (Dongsheng) commune.
In May 1961, Dongwang (Dongsheng) commune was divided into houkou commune and Yingtai commune.
In January 1984, it was changed from houkou commune to houkou township.
In December 1995, Yingtai township was merged into houkou township.
