Tanghu town

Tanghu Town, subordinate to Suichuan County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwest corner of Suichuan County, adjacent to Zuo'an town in the East, Gaoping town in the west, Shangyou County, Ganzhou City in the south, and Guidong County, Hunan Province in the north. It is the intersection of two provinces and three counties. With an area of 97.38 square kilometers, the town has 12 administrative villages and 1 community. In late 2019, the town of Tong Hu had 17 thousand and 900 registered residence population.

History of construction

In 1950, it was divided into Tanghu Township, Baitu Township and Huangshi township; in 1956, Tanghu Township, Baitu Township and Huangshi Township were merged into Tanghu township; in 1958, Tanghu township was abolished and Tanghu commune was established; in 1984, Tanghu commune was abolished and Tanghu township was restored; in 2001, Tanghu Township was abolished and Tanghu town was established.

Lumian lake, located in Nanping Village, Tanghu Town, is about 1200 meters above sea level. It is divided into upper lake and lower lake. Lumianhu lake is a unique landscape with its unique rocks, strange pines, meadows, large Rhododendron forests and perennial wind, cloud and fog.

Ancun reservoir area is located in Baitu village, Tanghu Town, with an area of 1200 Mu and a capacity of 1965 million cubic meters. It is a small type II reservoir with an installed capacity of 12000 kW and an annual power generation capacity of 3800 kwh. Ancun ecological sightseeing tea garden, which is close to the reservoir area, is one of the excellent sightseeing tea gardens with an area of 1300 mu.

Famous specialty

Tanghu town is the origin of gougunao tea, a famous tea in the world. The tea garden area of the town is more than 56000 mu, with an average of 10 mu per household and 3 mu per capita. The annual dry tea output is about 1500 tons, with an output value of 380 million yuan. Eight fine sightseeing tea gardens of more than 1000 mu have been built.

Honorary title

In 2012, Tanghu town was rated as a demonstration site of leisure agriculture and rural tourism in Jiangxi Province.
