Xiefang Town, subordinate to Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwest of Ruijin city. It is adjacent to Wuyang town and baying Township in the East, suburbs of Huichang and Zhulan Township in the West and south, Xijiang town of Huichang and Yunshishan Township in the north. National Highway 206 runs through the whole area for 15 kilometers, from xiefangwei to the urban area for 30 kilometers, and to Huichang County for 13 kilometers. The town covers an area of 131 square kilometers, including 49100 mu of cultivated land and 136800 mu of forest land. The town has 13 administrative villages and 1 community, 249 village groups, 23 party branches and 751 party members, with a total population of 43500 in 2018.

Historical evolution
Before liberation, Xiefang belonged to Wuyang district. In the early days of liberation, Xiefang district was set up.
In 1956, it belonged to Wuyang district.
In 1958, Xiefang commune was established.
In 1984, it was changed to Xiefang township.
In April 1989, the township was withdrawn to build a town, which has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages and 265 villager groups, including dashengbei, Yunlong, Hongxing, Xiefang, Anbei, Huashi, Shentang, Wazi, Shuinan, Xinjian, Tangbei, yangbei, Lecun, Xinmin, Xuanlong, biankou, Jingqiao and Jingkou.

The origin of place names
During the reign of Ye Zhengde in the middle of Ming Dynasty, the surnames Xie and LAN moved here to build their houses. Because Xie's population was more prosperous, it was named Xie Fang, and later Xie Fang town got its name.
Folk customs
Since ancient times, Xiefang people have been loyal, hospitable, hardworking and frugal. The folk custom is relatively strong. They don't bully others, and they don't want to be bullied. Before the Qing Dynasty and the people's Republic of China, there were special cultural institutions in the town. Every time there were God fairs, temple fairs or other traditional festivals, all kinds of lanterns and troupes were popular. The traditional folk custom of Xiefang "youqiu" means that before the Dragon Boat Festival, the villagers carry the Bodhisattvas in the temple to the tianduanli for a tour, beating gongs and drums, setting off firecrackers, driving away diseases and pests, begging for a bumper harvest of crops, and inviting relatives and friends from every family, holding a big banquet to celebrate.

The cultural relics of Xiefang town include the ancient kiln site of Jingqiao in Song Dynasty, which was identified as Celadon of Longquan kiln system by experts and designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit in June 1983; the ancient tomb site of Ming Dynasty in Shijiao of Jingqiao.
Red Culture
During the Soviet period, Xiefang people actively participated in the Red Army in order to support the revolutionary cause. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 1300 people in the town participating in the Red Army, and there are 1201 martyrs with names and surnames. After the long march of the Red Army in October 1934, Xiang Ying, then Secretary of the Central Bureau of the Red Army, organized the main 24 divisions of the left behind Red Army and other departments to ambush the third division of the East Route Army of the Kuomintang in wantanggang, Xinmin village, Xiefang on October 22, 1934, annihilated half of the enemy's brigade, killed one head of the enemy's regiment and one battalion commander, and handed in more than 500 guns.
