Tangpu town

Tangpu town is located in the southwest of Shangyu District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, adjacent to Yuecheng district and Keqiao District of Shaoxing City. Tangpu town has been a "land of fish and rice" since ancient times. With an area of 62 square kilometers, the town governs eight administrative villages and one neighborhood committee, with a total population of 16650 (2017). Geographic transportation

Tangpu town is located in the southwest edge of Shangyu District, close to Kuaiji mountain area, 19.3km away from the city, covering an area of 62 square kilometers, of which hills and mountains account for about 60% of the total area. The hills with a height of 200-300m are concentrated in the south, North and West. Longtougang in the west is 338.5m above sea level, which is the highest point of Tangpu. The mountains in the East are relatively low, and the altitude is mostly below 200m. Because the cultivated land of Tangpu is the alluvial plain of Xiaoshunjiang River, with low-lying terrain and many small lakes and swamps, the ancients called it "Tangpu", which means water, and "Pu" means waterfront.

Historical evolution

Tangpu Town, formed in the Eastern Han Dynasty, is a market town with a long history. In the year of the Republic of China, it belonged to Tangpu Town, Shunyuan Township, Guanwu Township and Shengjiang township of Shaoxing respectively. In the year of the Republic of China, it merged into Tangpu town. In 1950, it was divided into Tangxia Township, Sicun Township and Shengjiang township. In 1954, the three townships were put under the jurisdiction of Shangyu. It has been merged with Tangpu town.

It means that Tangpu is a big place, the tide in the sea can rise to Xiaoshun River, and the mountains and waters can go straight to Cao'e River. There are Guandi temple, Dongyue Temple, big temple, big ancestral hall and small ancestral hall of Wu family in the town. There are also seven tea houses in the town, namely Taixing, Ruixing, Yuanji, Huachang, Datong, Yuanlong and Jichang. A pawnshop is owned by the fisherman Du Jiuda. It's just a Yifeng oil truck shop. Compared with the tea shop, it can't be ranked any more! You can tell from the doggerel that many tea shops in those years were the biggest feature of Tangpu.

The most famous tea house in Tangpu tea house is Jiuda tea house. In the first year of tongzhi (1862), yujiadu's Dong Qingzhang and Shanghai's Wu Nangao invested 8000 taels of silver by Jardine Matheson, a British businessman, to jointly set up a "Jiuda tea shop" in yujiadu village to purchase superior round Mao tea. The refined pearl tea was sold exclusively by Jardine Matheson.

Shunyang middle school

Shunyang middle school is a junior middle school founded in 1943 in Jiulian temple, Tangpu, the enemy base in Kuaiji mountain during the Anti Japanese war. Shunyang middle school was established in 1943 and merged with Shaoxing middle school in 1947. Although it took only four years, it filled the blank of no middle school in Shaoxing County during the war and left a glorious page in Shaoxing's educational history.
