Meaning of place names
As early as 1737 (the third year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty), the coastline moved eastward, silting and depositing. A family of Mei, Wang, Han and Yang from Anfeng River moved to the seaside to fish. They lived as piers and used reed firewood fence to avoid the sea wind. The legend of "zhudunzi" came from the legend. Later, a spring tide washed zhudunzi out of a harbor, so it got its name.
Evolution and organizational system
More than 200 years ago, it was still a vast ocean. Later, with the tide rising and falling, the sand and silt accumulated, the beach increased, and the coastline moved eastward year by year, it gradually formed the sand island exposed to the sea. In the early years of Emperor Qianlong, fishermen began to rest here. In order to shelter from the wind and rain, people use a fence to block the wind, commonly known as "Da". As time goes by, this place has been called "Dunzi" by fishermen. According to historical records, in 1768, more than 100 fishermen settled here. In the 50th year of Qianlong reign, a big branch of fishing boat was opened on the pier. With the development of fishery production, the natural fishing port "pier" has evolved into "boat port".
In 1942, the New Fourth Army set up the office of the New Fourth Army in Yaogang to open up the sea transportation channel and ensure the supply of military supplies, which was designated as a county town. From the north to the south, there are three natural shallow sea fishing ports: squatting gate, tide gate and Yaogang. It is suitable for the reproduction and habitat of all kinds of fish, shrimp, crab and shellfish. Clam, clam, razor clam, sand bamboo shoot, mud snail and other shellfish.
