Historical evolution
In the Xia and Shang Dynasties, it belonged to Yangzhou.
After King Wu of the Western Zhou Dynasty conquered Zhou, he granted the meritorious minister the Viscount of Yan's surname here and established the state of Shu. Later, he separated Shu Yong, Shu Jiu, Shu Liao, Shu long, Shu Bao, and Shu Gong, known as "Qunshu" in history. Shucheng county is a part of Qunshu region.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Zhou Zuo was in decline, the princes were competing for hegemony, and Qunshu was weak. In the sixth year of King Ding of Zhou (601 BC), King Zhuang of Chu destroyed ShuLiao. In the 12th year of King Jian of Zhou Dynasty (574 BC), the Communist king of Chu exterminated Shu Yong, and in the 24th year of King Ling of Zhou Dynasty (548 BC), King Kang of Chu ordered Yin Qujian to lead his master to exterminate Shu Jiu. In the 12th year of King Jing of Zhou Dynasty (508 BC), Qunshu was destroyed by Chu.
In the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Jiujiang county.
In the Han Dynasty, Shu county was established in the fourth year of emperor Gaozu (203 BC). Next year, don't set up Longshu county. In the 62nd year of emperor Yongping of the Han Dynasty, Xuchang, the brother-in-law of the king of Chu, was granted the title of Marquis of Longshu, and Lingshu county and Longshu county were renamed "Marquis of Longshu".
During the period of the Three Kingdoms (220-280 years), it belonged to Wei at the beginning and Wu later.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Lujiang County of Yangzhou.

In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), it belonged to Anqing Road, Anhui Province. In the twenty-first year of the Republic of China (1932), Anhui Province began to set up administrative districts, and then changed to administrative supervision district. Shucheng County belonged to the third district (special office in Lu'an County).
On January 22, 1949, the whole county was liberated, and democratic governments were established in counties, districts, townships and villages respectively. On May 1, 1949, it was changed into the people's government, belonging to the Lu'an special district of Northern Anhui Province. From 1952 to the end of 1985, it belonged to the Lu'an special district of Anhui Province. Since 2000, it belongs to Lu'an City, Anhui Province.
On April 29, 2019, the people's Government of Anhui Province approved Shucheng county to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county sequence.

Fengle River
Originally known as Houhe River, it originates from yaoluzhai, Lu'an County, passes through donghekou and nanguanting, enters Shayuan village, changchong Township, Shucheng County, reaches hehou River in longzui (from sigutan River and zhangjiadian River), passes through Sanhe Town to Xinhekou, Feixi County, converges Hangbu River and flows into Chaohu Lake. The total length is 117.45 km. It is the natural boundary line between Shucheng, Lu'an and Feixi counties. The drainage area is 2080 square kilometers.
Xiaotianhe
It originated from Lingtou, the south boundary of Yuexi County. Since the completion of Longhekou reservoir in 1958, it was cut off from Hangbu river. The river enters Nanyue village, Dahe Township, Shucheng county from hongshizui, passes Hezhu River (originated from xiaojianchong) in Xiaotian Town, and reaches the river along hetiancangshui. Through Xiaohekou township to shanqihe town Shuanggui Village gravel beach, into the Longhekou reservoir. Shucheng county is 20 kilometers long. The whole basin covers an area of 588.9 square kilometers.
Hepeng River
Wusha River, formerly known as Wusha River, is another main tributary in the upper reaches of Hangbu river. Wuxian River
