On June 28, the official ceremony of Cambodia National Pavilion Day was solemnly held in the Expo Center on the morning of June 28. Zhan praxi, Minister of state and Minister of Commerce of the kingdom of Cambodia, and Wang Chao, Assistant Minister of Commerce of China, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
In his speech, Zhan plasi, on behalf of the royal government of Cambodia and Prime Minister Hun Sen of the kingdom of Cambodia, congratulated the successful holding of the Shanghai World Expo. He said that Cambodia has a long history and its civilization can be traced back to the first century A.D. At the Shanghai World Expo, the Cambodia Pavilion displays Cambodia's rich cultural treasures and shares with visitors from all over the world the valuable experience that the Cambodian people have learned from their culture and life. In order to let visitors fully appreciate Cambodia's cultural wealth, historical heritage and splendid civilization, the Cambodia Pavilion closely follows the sub theme of Shanghai World Expo - the integration of urban multi culture, showing the epitome of Cambodia in different historical periods.
In his speech, Wang Chao, on behalf of the Chinese government and the Shanghai World Expo Organizing Committee, expressed sincere congratulations on the holding of Cambodia National Pavilion Day. He said that as an ancient oriental civilization, Cambodia has a long history and splendid culture. Today, standing in the 1000 square meter Cambodian National Museum, we can see a vivid panorama of Cambodia, touch the pulse of the progress of the Cambodian era, share the happiness of the Cambodian people in enjoying a better life, and also feel the unique understanding and interpretation of the theme of "cultural life in the city" by the Cambodian people. China and Cambodia are close neighbors. I believe the Shanghai World Expo will provide new opportunities for China and Cambodia to enhance mutual understanding and deepen bilateral cooperation.
At the ceremony, Cambodian artists brought dance performances showing ethnic customs and ancient culture to the audience. Among them, "phoenix dance" is also known as "wreath dance", which shows the scene of Khmer women picking flowers and making a wreath; the props used in "gedengjiu dance" include Gejiu, grinding hammer, basket for rice and brown sugar juice container, etc. The dance reflects the daily life of Cambodian people and the traditional agricultural value of Cambodia.
