Located in the western part of the city, guanhaishan is 66 meters above sea level. During the period of German occupation, golf course was built on the mountain, so it is called "throwing ball mountain". After Japan occupied Qingdao, it was renamed "Bafan mountain". In 1922, China took back Qingdao and built a sea watching platform on the top of the mountain, which was officially named "sea watching mountain". Covering an area of 85 mu, this mountain is the smallest of the ten Mountain Parks in Qingdao. The garden is full of flowers and trees. There is a deep flower gallery with murals on the theme of underwater world, which are more than ten meters long on both sides. In the shade of flowers and trees, there is a small viewing platform, where you can see the landscape of this scenic spot.
Qingdao guanhaishan Park
Guanhaishan park is located in the south of Shinan District, more than 600 meters away from the coastline, with an altitude of 66 meters. The park covers an area of 5300 square meters. It is one of the ten Mountain Parks in Qingdao. It was built in 1985.
Development history
It was built in 1985. Like a crystal pearl inlaid in Shinan District. Guanhaishan is close to Qingdao Bay. Originally, it was a small mountain. Because of its green rocks, it was named "qingshishan". Before and after the establishment of Qingdao, it was called "xiaobeiling mountain", which has been used since. This mountain was originally a small mountain. It was also named "qingshishan" because of its green rocks. When Qingdao was occupied by Germany in the late Qing Dynasty, because the German wanted to build "jiaoao governor's house" on the south slope of the mountain in 1903, the mountain was named "governor's hill".
In 1914, when Japan occupied Qingdao for the first time, the Japanese garrison headquarters changed the name of this mountain to "Bafan mountain" because of the "flag lowering" put up by the German army in and around the "jiaoao governor's house". In 1923, after the Chinese government took back Qingdao, it was named "guanhaishan". "Jiaoao Zhi" records: "when the center of the city, planting pine all over the mountains, the top of the mountain has a viewing platform, mountaineering, overlooking the twists and turns of Jiaozhou Bay, you know it like the back of your hand."
In 1927, Zhao Qi, as the general office of jiaoao commercial port, decided to build a square "sea watching platform" on the top of the mountain for tourists after inspecting the "sea watching mountain". After the completion of the "sea watching platform", the public have stepped on the stage to enjoy it. As a result, the people call this mountain "Liangtai mountain". This is because the newly-built "sea view platform" is very similar to the "balcony" in people's homes.
