The former revolutionary site of Wuqi town is located in Wuqi County, Yan'an City. On October 19, 1935, the Central Red Army led by the CPC Central Committee arrived at Wuqi town after a long march of 25000 Li, and completely repelled the Kuomintang pursuers at Shengli mountain in Wuqi County, marking the end of the long march of the Red Army.

The former revolutionary site of Wuqi town is located at the south foot of yanwa mountain in Wuqi Town, Wuqi County. On October 19, 1935, the CPC Central Committee led the Central Red Army through the 25000 Li Long March to Wuqi town in Northern Shaanxi and entered the northwest Soviet Area, thus successfully ending the long march of the Central Red Army. The former revolutionary sites in Wuqi town include Mao Zedong's former residence and Zhang Wentian's former residence, which are divided into the north and the south, and the south is Mao Zedong's former residence. Between the two courtyards, there are stone holes connected. To commemorate the victory of the battle of "cutting tail" in Wuqi Town, platform mountain was renamed Shengli mountain. In the east of the mountain, there are revolutionary martyrs' cemetery and martyrs' memorial tower. After the founding of the PRC, the people's government carried out large-scale maintenance of the site.

In December 1966, "Chairman Mao's revolutionary Former Residence Memorial Hall" was completed. In 1967, it was renamed "Wuqi town revolutionary Former Residence Memorial Hall". In 1976, it was officially renamed "Wuqi revolutionary memorial hall". In recent years, the county has invested more than 2 million yuan to expand and repair the old site. At present, the Museum covers an area of 2980 square meters, with 4 provincial cultural relics protection units, 12 revolutionary sites and 1995 cultural relics.

Between the two courtyards, there are stone holes connected. To commemorate the victory of the battle of "cutting tail" in Wuqi Town, platform mountain was renamed Shengli mountain. In the east of the mountain, there is a revolutionary martyrs cemetery and a martyrs memorial tower. There are 18 caves, 3 stables and 9 bungalows. Mao Zedong, Zhang Wentian, Wang Jiaxiang, Qin bangxian, Liu Shaoqi, Yang Shangkun and other central leaders lived in these caves respectively.

History
After Mao Zedong arrived at Wuqi Town, he called Peng Dehuai on the same day: "Wuqi town is already the border of the Soviet area. To the east of this place, there is a red regime, and Baoan City hears that there are red troops, but jinfoping between Wuqi town and Jintang town has more than 100 landlords armed to guard the fort, and plans to send a team to destroy it." The telegram also asked Peng Dehuai to go to Wuqi town the next day to discuss the policy of action, and the second and third columns were under the command of Ye Jianying and Deng FA.
On October 20, Mao Zedong and other leading comrades of the central committee listened to the report of the political commissar of the cavalry regiment of the 26th Red Army in Northern Shaanxi, learned of the serious situation of the erroneous elimination of counter revolutionaries in the northwest Soviet Area, and instructed "to keep people under the knife and stop arresting people.". On the same day, Mao Zedong also studied the enemy situation with Peng Dehuai and others. Mao Zedong instructed us to fight back and pursue the enemy and not to bring the enemy into the base areas. On the 21st, Mao Zedong and Peng Dehuai commanded the Red Army to set up an ambush on the front lines of Toudaochuan, erdaochuan and Sandaochuan, totally annihilated the enemy's 35 division cavalry regiment and defeated the enemy's 32 division and 36 division cavalry regiments. This is the famous "tail cutting" campaign in Wuqi town. This battle was the last battle of the long march of the Central Red Army. Six or seven hundred people were captured and more than 1000 horses were captured.
