The total construction area is 266 square meters. There is a hall in the middle of the lower floor for the portrait of pengpai's mother Zhou Feng. The former residence sits in the north and faces the Longjin River, which flows around the pengjiamen. Peng Pai spent his childhood and youth here. After the first generation went to Haifeng in the eastern expedition, Comrade Zhou Enlai and Soviet military adviser Borodin Garen lived and worked here. The original house was destroyed in June 1925 and restored in 1986.

Pengpai's former residence is located in the north and south, facing the Longjin river. It was originally built in the late Qing Dynasty. The main building has two floors, with a width of 12.9 meters and a depth of 10.9 meters. The front porch imitates the western style building, and the floor is paved with tiles. Wind fire gable, with a total construction area of 266 square meters. Comrade Peng Pai spent his childhood and youth here. Pengpai's study "Dequ library" is on the east side of his former residence. As Peng Pai joined the revolutionary movement, his family property and former residence all contributed to the revolution. According to records of Haifeng cultural relics, in March 1925, after the first eastern expedition of Guangdong national revolutionary army arrived in Haifeng, Comrade Zhou Enlai, Soviet military adviser Bao Luoting and general Galen of the revolutionary army stayed here to study and work together. "Haifeng cultural relics records" also records: in June 1925, when the revolutionary army returned to Guangzhou, the remnant of warlord Chen Jiongming fell back into Haifeng City, and his former residence was burned down, leaving only the wall foundation. After liberation, the people's government appropriated money to build walls for protection. On July 7, 1962, the people's Committee of Guangdong Province promulgated that the former site is a provincial key cultural relics protection unit (including Dequ Library). In 1986, the State Administration of cultural relics allocated 150000 yuan to rebuild the site according to its original appearance and display the cultural relics of the life of the martyr Peng Pai. Pengpai's former residence is open to the public with a new look. Tourists from home and abroad come to visit and write many beautiful poems.

Comrade Peng Pai spent his childhood and youth here. On the east side of the former residence is pengpai's study "Dequ library". It used to be pengpai's library. Three rooms wide, wind and fire gable, building area of 96 square meters. In the summer of 1922, Comrade Peng Pai and his wife Cai Suping moved here and organized a group of six farmers' associations. During the first eastern expedition in 1925, Zhou Enlai led his department to meet with Peng Pai in "Dequ bookstore" and set up a special branch of Haifeng of the Communist Party of China. Peng Pai served as secretary, and the Haifeng prefectural committee of the Communist Party of China also worked here. It was burned down by Kuomintang troops in March 1928 and restored in 1958. In front of the gate of pengpai's former residence, the former site of longhepu was originally a rectangular broad flat. On New Year's day in 1923, thousands of farmers gathered here to celebrate the establishment of Haifeng general farmers' Association. Since then, many important gatherings have been held here. In the winter of 1927, after the establishment of the Haifeng Soviet regime, a mass meeting attended by tens of thousands of people was held here. 471088 land deeds and 58027 books were burned. It is the historical witness of Haifeng peasant movement and revolutionary struggle.

Peng Pai (1896-1929) was born in Haifeng, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. He is an outstanding leader of the Chinese peasant movement. He came from a landlord family. He went to Japan to study in 1917 and joined Waseda University in 1918. He actively participated in the anti imperialist and patriotic activities of Chinese students. In 1919, he joined Waseda University's radical youth organization, the builders League. After the October Revolution, he began to study the theory of socialism.
At the beginning of 1924, he became a member of the Communist Party of China. In the same year, he joined the Kuomintang as an individual and served as the Secretary of the central peasants Department of the Kuomintang. In July, the Guangdong revolutionary government founded the Peasant Movement Institute in Guangzhou. He was the director of the first and fifth peasant movement institutes.
In July 1928, he continued to be elected as a member of the Central Committee at the Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and was elected as an alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee at the first plenary session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. After the meeting, the CPC Dongjiang special committee and Chaomei special committee merged into Dongjiang special committee and was designated as the secretary. In the winter of the same year, he was transferred to Shanghai as secretary of the Agricultural Committee of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Military Commission of Jiangsu provincial Party committee.
On August 24, 1929, because of the traitor's informer, he was unfortunately arrested. On August 30, he died in Longhua's Shanghai police headquarters. The Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army once established Peng (PAI) and Yang (Yin) military and political schools to commemorate.
