Watergate Park

Huoqiu Watergate park is located in Huoqiu County, Lu'an City, Anhui Province, two kilometers northeast of the city. The water surface is emerald and floating jade. It is known as the "Thousand Island Lake" in West Anhui. Shuimen park is 3.15 km long from north to South and 1.25 km wide from east to west, with an area of 5000 mu and a storage capacity of 10.4 million cubic meters.

The biggest feature of the park is that there are 46 small islands in the pond, each of which is of different sizes and shapes. They are connected with each other by curved bridges and paths.

Development history

Shuimen park is built on the basis of shuimentang reservoir, which was called dayepo in ancient times. It was built by sun shuao, the Prime Minister of the state of Chu in the spring and Autumn period. It has a history of more than 2600 years and is one of the earliest ancient ponds in Chinese history. The area of shuimen pond was 12000 Mu when it was first built, and only 8500 Mu was left in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. It was a waste pond before the founding of new China. After several restoration after liberation, it became a medium-sized reservoir in Pishihang Irrigation Area. In 1994, it was opened as Watergate park.

Main attractions

The scenic area is dominated by natural landscape and cultural landscape. There are some historical relics in guodaye lake, such as Huai Chu Xiang, Zhu Fu shuimen pond, Chen Shi of the county main hall, shuimen pond inscriptions and so on. There are mainly Cuizhu Island, Crystal Palace, Longgong Island, sun Gong Island, zoo, sun Gong temple, Huayan Temple, holiday village, flower center, bird island and other scenic spots, equipped with water yacht, yepo Pavilion, animal Island, amusement world, terror City, children's paradise, ecological park, fishing center, Cuizhu Garden Hotel, Crystal Palace Hotel and other entertainment facilities.

Cuidao floating jade on the water surface is known as "Qiandao Lake" in West Anhui. After shuimentang was turned into a park, it maintained the unique view of "natural water". Long bridges, pavilions and pavilions, winding paths and Lushi. Because of the water scenery, the water garden is full of splendor, such as the brocade scale playing wave, the lotus fragrance moving and the water shining.

Yepi Pavilion, 30 meters high, is built on Sun Gong island. From the first floor to the third floor, there are three murals of "Eight Immortals crossing the sea", "Sun Gong burying snakes" and "two dragons playing with pearls", which can be called Huoqiu's "Yellow Crane Tower". On the animal Island, all monkeys, giraffes, peacocks, American turkeys, zebras and camels are raised in the open air. The go karts and aerial vehicles on the second island, the terror city and eight trigrams array on the Dragon Palace Island, and the self-control aircraft, bumper cars, mischievous fort, wisdom City, hovering tanks and jumping jumpers on the third island can be called the children's amusement world. Egrets fly in Luxiang Island, leisure and comfort in Yangping Island, simple and elegant in tap water Pavilion, colorful flowers in Fangfei Island, catering and accommodation in Cuizhu Island, farmyard in Crystal Palace, etc.

Shuimen Park integrates breeding, irrigation, leisure and entertainment. It was approved as a National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot in October 2006. It has been listed as one of the main scenic spots of three-day tour and one-day tour of Huoqiu in West Anhui by Provincial Tourism Bureau and Nanjing travel agency.

Shuimen park is located in the northeast of Huoqiu County, which was called Daye PI in ancient times. It was built by sun shuao, the Prime Minister of Chu, in 622 BC. It has a history of more than 2600 years.
