Taihu Lake Scenic Spot

The lake is located at the junction of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, in the south of the Yangtze River Delta. It has beautiful scenery and rich flavor of Jiangnan. The vast Taihu Lake is dotted with these 48 islands. These islands, together with the mountains and peninsulas along the way, are known as 72 peaks. They come from Tianmu Mountain in Zhejiang Province, either end at the lakeside or enter the lake one after another, forming a natural picture of mountains outside the mountain and lakes outside the lake. Located in the south of the lake, Dongting West Mountain, with an area of 62.5 kilometers, is the largest and most beautiful island in Taihu Lake, and is separated from Dongting east mountain.

Taihu Lake scenic spot is located in the middle of the Yangtze River Delta. It is a natural lake scenic spot with a long cultural history, characterized by the landscape of Taihu Lake, hills and islands.

The total planning area of Taihu Lake scenic spot is 3091 square kilometers, including 888 square kilometers of scenic spots (including 529 square kilometers of Taihu Lake water surface) and 2203 square kilometers of peripheral protection zone (including 1931 square kilometers of Taihu Lake water surface).

Taihu Lake scenic area consists of 13 scenic spots including Mudu, Shihu, Guangfu, Dongshan, Xishan, Luzhi and Tongli scenic spots in Suzhou; Meiliang lake, Lihu lake, Xihui and Mashan scenic spots in Wuxi; Yushan scenic spot in Changshu; Yangxian scenic spot in Yixing; and Taibo temple and Taibo tomb in Wuxi. It covers 35 towns or streets in 2 cities and 3 counties.

Forming history

In June 1980, the provincial people's government established the Taihu Lake Scenic Area Construction Committee.

In 1982, the State Council approved and announced the Taihu Lake scenic spot.

In 1986, with the approval of the State Council and the approval of the Ministry of construction, Taihu Lake scenic area was determined as a natural lake type national key scenic area, which is good at combination of mountains and rivers, has Chinese Wuyue cultural tradition and characteristics of Jiangnan Water Town, and is suitable for sightseeing, vacation, recuperation, water sports, science and culture and other activities.

Taihu Lake scenic spot is located in the transition zone from subtropical zone to warm temperate zone, with mild climate, moderate rainfall and four distinct seasons. It is bounded by Huaihe River and North Jiangsu irrigation canal, with warm temperate humid and semi humid monsoon climate in the north and subtropical humid monsoon climate in the south. The annual average temperature is 13.2 ℃, increasing from north to South; the annual average precipitation is 782-1150 mm, which is more in the South than in the north, and more in the coastal than inland.

Guangfu scenic spot

Guangfu scenic spot is located in the eastern fishing port of Taihu Lake. It is composed of four groups of peninsulas protruding into the lake and nearby islands. It occupies the most winding and graceful part of Taihu Lake coastline. It is an ancient scenic spot with mountains and waters characterized by beautiful plants, blessed religious land and huwan fishing port. In the scenic area, the mountains and hills are lined up, the scenery is embraced, the scenery is quiet, and the cultural and historical sites are numerous. Yangxian scenic spot

Yangxian scenic spot is located in the hilly area of Yixing City on the West Bank of Taihu Lake. It is characterized by karst cave, bamboo sea, tea garden, ceramics and Liangzhu culture. It is the most abundant mountain forest scenic spot in Taihu Lake scenic spot. In the area, the peak is high and the valley is deep, especially there are many caves, gullies, streams and pools, and the plant resources are rich, which is typical of subtropical plant communities. The landscape of tea garden and bamboo sea is particularly characteristic. The representative scenic spots are: Shanjuan cave, Zhanggong cave, Linggu cave, Muli cave, yunvtan, Nanyue temple, Zhuhai, etc.

Lihu scenic spot

Located in the southwest suburb of Wuxi, Lihu lake, also known as Wulihu Lake, is the inner lake of Taihu Lake. Adjacent to the fish pond along the lake, the lakeshore is pink and willow green, rich in water scenery. There are Liyuan, Baojie Boming and other scenic spots, covering an area of about 18.9 square kilometers.

Lihu Lake scenic area is composed of Lihu lake and its surrounding areas. It is a lake scenic area characterized by modern gardens, beautiful waterscape and lakeside wetland. Lihu lake, also known as Wulihu Lake, is the inner lake at the north end of Taihu Lake and the key point of Taihu Lake. Liyuan, a modern garden, occupies a corner of Dongli Lake. Meiliang Lake Scenic Spot

Located in the northern part of Taihu Lake, Meiliang Lake scenic area is composed of Meishui Bay in the northern part of Taihu Lake, Meiliang lake and the mountains along the lake. With long mountains and broad waters, winding coastline, surrounded by mountains and water, and vast waves, it is a scenic spot with excellent landscape combination and rich natural coastline scenery. The East Bank of Meiliang Lake in the scenic spot is Chonggang Fuling. There are 12 mountain pillars protruding from the lake, and the northwest bank has continuous peaks. There are 18 mountain bays along the lake, which seem to break off or continue with Maji mountain at the Hunan end. It is an ancient town scenic spot characterized by ancient water town and ancient bridge series landscape in the south of the Yangtze River. There are rich historical and cultural relics in the scenic area. The ancient town has a complete style, with ancient bridges, ancient commercial streets and arhat statues. It is simple, prosperous and bustling. It has a rich cultural heritage and a large number of talents. Two kilometers south of the town, there are sites of qingliangang culture and Liangzhu Culture in Zhangling mountain. According to legend, the town of Wu Gong in the town of South China is the departure of Wang Helv, the ancient Wutong. Tongli scenic spot

Tongli scenic spot is located 10 kilometers east of Taihu Lake, which is composed of Tongli ancient town, Tongli lake, Jiuli lake, Nanxing lake and Yanghu lake. It is an ancient town lake scenic spot with the characteristics of famous ancient town garden and water country garden. The scenic spot has a long and splendid history and culture. It has rich and valuable historical relics, such as "two halls and three bridges", tuisiyuan, former residence of Jicheng, genglo hall, shiyugu square, Huancui villa, etc. Tongli ancient town is a typical water town in the south of the Yangtze River, which is mainly composed of residential gardens and Ming and Qing dwellings.

It is an ancient scenic spot with mountains and waters and ancient towns, residential buildings and fruit forest landscape in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The scenic spot is famous for its beautiful lakes and mountains, beautiful flowers and fruits, and ancient villages in the south of the Yangtze River. It is also the birthplace of the Kangxi imperial tea Biluochun. The classic ancient villages represented by Luxiang ancient village and idyllic forests constitute a natural landscape painting.
