Current situation
Jiwang temple is an ancient building group of glass, wood carving and stone carving. In January 1996, it was officially announced as a key cultural relics protection unit in Shanxi Province by the people's Government of Shanxi Province. Ji Wang Temple "Wuliang Dian", because the whole building is not supported by long beam, so it is named. The temple is located in Taizhao village, Nanzhang Township, in the northwest corner of Wanrong county. The original temple is magnificent and large-scale. Unfortunately, it was burned down by the Japanese invaders during the Anti Japanese war. Only the main hall (Wuliang Hall) and the stage rebuilt in 1921 survived. Walking into the main hall of Jiwang temple, the whole hall looks like an open umbrella. It is five rooms wide and six rafters deep. The four eaves of the house are neat, and the four porches are supported by brackets, with five ridges on the eaves. In the hall, there is a column of central columns, which is directly below the flat beam. The flat beam is divided into two sections, which are interpenetrated with each other. The roof is assembled by two diagonal bracing techniques, and the gravity is scattered in the lower layer. Because of the small and ingenious ridge of the roof, the house has a large slope and looks like a fan. The whole roof is less than one fifth of the length of the hall. This unique architectural structure and special national style has a certain reference value in the study of ancient architecture in China. There is no research on the date when the hall was first built. Only the words "rebuilt" in 1363 can be recognized. Judging from the existing shape, its Dou Gong structure and some stone column foundations still retain the characteristics of the Jin Dynasty, "wuliangdian" is definitely a building of the Jin Dynasty. The stage in the temple, rebuilt in the 10th year of the Republic of China, was first built in 1271, which was confirmed by a stone tablet embedded on the north wall of Wuliang hall. The monument is 0.31 meters high and 0.37 meters wide. It was erected three times in March of the eighth year of the Zhiyuan Dynasty. The inscription reads: "today, the temple has been built and built for a long time. Although it has undergone military revolution, the temple is still in existence, and the existing dance base has never been built. Today, some people in our village are very devout. They use their precious money 200 times to build a dance hall, which is carved with stone. " The eighth year of the Zhiyuan period was the first year after Kublai Khan, the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, took power in the whole country. According to the inscriptions, it can be seen that the stage performance of drama was very common in the early Yuan Dynasty. It provides material materials for understanding and studying the development history of Chinese drama and has important cultural value. "Wuliang Temple" of Jiwang temple has a history of more than 800 years, and Jin Dynasty buildings are rare in our province. It is a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
