Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology

Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology is one of the four universities of Electronic Science and technology in China. It is a key university jointly built by the Ministry of industry and information technology and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The school is located in Guilin, a famous historical and cultural city in China and a world-famous scenic spot. It has four campuses: Huajiang campus, Jinjiling campus, West Campus (College of Adult Education) and Beihai campus, covering an area of 4771 mu. The main campus of the school, Huajiang campus, covers an area of 3571 Mu and a planned area of 6000 mu. It is surrounded by Huajiang River and sits at the foot of Yaoshan mountain. The campus environment is beautiful and picturesque Jiling campus covers an area of 659 mu; Beihai campus covers an area of 541 mu, close to Beihai silver beach in Guangxi, which is known as "the first beach in the world". The origin of running a school

Guilin Machinery College

In February 1960, the first Ministry of machinery industry established Guilin Machinery College in Guilin to cultivate the mechanical and electronic professionals urgently needed by the national economy. In April, Guilin Machinery College and Guilin technician school merged to establish Guilin Machinery College, which is attached with technical secondary school department and technician department. In November, Guilin Machinery College was under the leadership of the third Ministry of machinery industry.

In June 1961, according to the direction of simplification and decentralization issued by the Education Bureau of the Ministry of the third machinery industry, the school abolished the mechanic department.

In April 1962, the third Ministry of machinery industry decided to change the name of Guilin College of machinery to Guilin College of machinery industry.

In 1964, the school was under the management of the fourth Ministry of machinery industry.

At the beginning of 1966, the storm of "Cultural Revolution" hit the national secondary specialized schools of electronic industry. From 1966 to 1971, the school was forced to suspend enrollment.

In the spring of 1972, the school resumed and changed its name to Guilin Radio School.

In 1977, the University participated in the unified enrollment of colleges and technical secondary schools nationwide.

On May 20, 1980, with the approval of the State Council of the people's Republic of China, Guilin Institute of electronic technology was established on the basis of Guilin Radio School. It is subordinate to the Ministry of four machines, under the dual leadership of the Ministry of four machines and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. And the former Northwest Institute of Telecommunications Engineering (now Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology) counterpart support.

 

On January 2, 1981, the fourth Ministry of mechanical engineering decided that the political level of the college was prefecture (Division) level.

On December 23, 1982, the subsidiary factory electronic instrument factory was established.

In March 1983, the college was directly under the management of the former Ministry of electronic industry.

On July 11, 1984, the former Lijiang children's middle school was officially transferred to the college. With the approval of Guilin Municipal Bureau of education, it was named "affiliated middle school of Guilin Institute of electronic technology". On July 16, the Ministry of Education approved the college as the third batch of colleges and universities in China to award bachelor's degrees.

In December 1985, the college and Xidian jointly trained postgraduates.

 

In June 1988, the college was under the management of the Ministry of mechanical and electronic industry.

On November 19, 1990, Jiang Zemin, then general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, visited the college in person and wrote an inscription "training more qualified talents for the development of electronic industry".

 

In 1993, the college was under the management of China Electronics Industry Corporation. Become a master's degree awarding unit.

 

In 1995, with the approval of the State Education Commission, the college obtained the qualification of recruiting foreign students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries.

In 2000, in the reform of the management system of national colleges and universities, the college was directly under the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the management system of Guilin Institute of electronic technology was transformed into the joint construction of the central and local governments, focusing on local management.

In 2003, the college and Xi'an University of Electronic Science and technology jointly trained doctoral programs in signal and information processing (separately listed in the enrollment plan).

In 2004, the school became a training unit for national defense students.

Strive for the first class

Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology

On March 1, 2006, the College changed its name to Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology. In the same year, Yaoshan Campus (now Huajiang campus) was built in Lingtian Township, Lingchuan County, Guilin City, and was selected as the National College Students' cultural quality education base.

 

 

In 2008, the Ministry of industry and information technology and the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region signed an agreement on the joint construction of Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology. Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology officially became a provincial university, listed as a key construction university in Guangxi, and built Beihai campus of Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology.

 

In the same year, he was selected into the National College Students' innovative experiment program.

In May 2011, the school became the training unit of "preparatory class for children of frontier soldiers" of PLA.

In September 2012, the University became an excellent engineer education and Training Program University of the Ministry of education.

In January 2013, the University passed the construction acceptance of the new doctoral degree awarding unit.

In November 2014, the National University Science and Technology Park was settled in GuiDian.

In 2016, the University was selected into the basic capacity building project of universities in central and Western China.

In January 2017, the University was selected as one of the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. In July, it was awarded the national and local joint engineering research center. In November, the school was awarded the honorary title of the first national civilized campus.

 

 

In May 2018, it was selected as the first-class discipline construction university in Guangxi. In July, Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology officially established the school of artificial intelligence. In August, he was selected into the first batch of new engineering research and practice projects of the Ministry of education. In September, the State Administration of science, technology and industry for national defense and the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region jointly established Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology.
