Jinan Museum

Jinan museum is a large-scale local comprehensive museum in Shandong Province, is a national second-class Museum, located at No. 30, Jingxi Road, Lixia District, Jinan City. The museum was founded in December 1958, and in 1997, the new museum of Jinan City was officially put into use. In 2008, Jinan Museum opened to the whole society free of charge. In 2009, it was rated as a national second-class Museum.

The Museum covers an area of 8500 square meters, building area of 6300 square meters, including 2400 square meters of display area. It is mainly responsible for the collection, storage, display, publicity and scientific research of the city's movable cultural relics. There are storage department, display and education department, security section and administrative office.

As of February 2017, it has more than 20000 cultural relics and more than 2000 rare books, including 3 national cultural relics, 59 first-class cultural relics and more than 1000 third-class cultural relics. For example, in the Neolithic age, the "revolving pattern Ivory comb" was found; in the Shang Dynasty, the bronze pattern Ge with wrong golden eyes was found; in the spring and Autumn period, the "Lu Bo Da Fu Ying Ji Ji Ji Tong GUI" was found; in the Warring States period, the jade spoon was found; and in the early Western Han Dynasty, the "painted music and dance acrobatic pottery figurines" were found only in China. In addition, there are a large number of paintings in the collection, especially in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Development history

In December 1958, Jinan museum was founded in Baotu Spring Park.

In 1959, Li Qingzhao memorial hall was founded in Baotu Spring Park.

In 1961, Xin Qiji Memorial temple was founded in Daming Lake Park.

In March 1989, the construction of the new Jinan Museum, located on the west side of Qianfo Mountain Park, was started.

In May 1992, the new Jinan museum was completed.

In 1997, the new Jinan museum was officially put into use. The Museum covers an area of 8500 square meters, with a construction area of 6300 square meters, including a display area of 2400 square meters.

In 1998, it was officially announced and awarded as the first batch of patriotic education base in Jinan.

In 2005, it was officially announced and awarded as the patriotic education base of Shandong Province by Shandong Province, and was awarded the municipal civilized unit by Jinan spiritual civilization office.

In 2008, Jinan Museum opened to the whole society free of charge.

In 2009, it was rated as a national second-class Museum.

In October 2011, Jinan Cultural Relics store was incorporated into Jinan Museum.

Venue layout

As of February 2017, Jinan Museum has 8 exhibition halls with an exhibition area of 2400 square meters.

There are two floors, four exhibition halls on the first floor, which are "photos of birds", "calligraphy and painting", "porcelain" and "inkstone". The four exhibition halls on the first floor cover an area of about 200 square meters, which are suitable for undertaking individual works exhibitions of artists, calligraphers and artists, special exhibitions of enterprises and institutions reflecting the development achievements of their own system, and exhibitions of their own collections by collectors. There are four exhibition halls on the second floor, which are connected with each other, displaying some Buddha statues and small collections.

A summary of cultural relics

As of February 2017, Jinan Museum has more than 20000 cultural relics and more than 2000 rare books. The collection mainly comes from archaeological excavation, national allocation, donations from social organizations and people from all walks of life, as well as funds from the municipal government. Among them, there are 3 national level cultural relics, 59 first-class cultural relics and more than 1000 third-class cultural relics.

Many of the cultural relics in the collection are rare treasures in China, such as the "revolving Ivory comb" in the Neolithic age, the bronze CuO Jin Mu Ge in the Shang Dynasty, the "Lu Bo Da Fu Ying Ji Ji Ji Tong GUI" in the spring and Autumn period, the jade spoon in the Warring States period, and the "painted music and dance acrobatic pottery figurines" unearthed from the tombs of the early Western Han Dynasty. Tang Dynasty stone carved Phoenix carriage, gold and silver flat mirror, Tongguan kiln rhinoceros pillow, three color camel, Song Dynasty Dangyangyu kiln carved porcelain pillow, Yuan Dynasty underglaze red jade pot spring vase, Ming Dynasty Xuande blue and white lotus pattern platter, Qing Dynasty Kangxi five color character vase, Qing Dynasty Qianlong imperial Title Yutian jade picture yushanzi, etc., are all the best products of the generation.

In addition, there are a large number of legalistic paintings in the collection, especially in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, such as the landscape of Guoxi school in the Northern Song Dynasty, fishing in the autumn stream by Sheng Mao in the Yuan Dynasty, Gao Ke's bamboo and stone painting by Ni Zan in the "four Masters of the Yuan Dynasty", blowing flute under the moon by Wang Er in the Ming Dynasty, wild geese playing in the reed pond by Lin Liang, looking at the moon by Tong Yin by Zhang Lu, and seeking hiding in the snow by Zhou Chen The painting of Da Mo by Chen Hongshou, the painting of Shan Shui Ping by Lan Ying, and the painting of Eight Immortals in drinking by Zhang Dan. In the Qing Dynasty, there were masterpieces by Wang Hui, Shi Tao, Zheng Banqiao, Huang Shen and Li Zhen, as well as famous masters from the late Qing Dynasty to modern times, such as Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Fu Baoshi and Liu Haisu.

In March 2015, Jinan museum was awarded the title of "Shandong science popularization education base".
