Yueyawan Wetland Park is an ancient river channel flowing from Panjin to Bohai Sea. It is named for its shape of crescent moon. Yueyawan wetland is located in the intertidal zone, which is the best preserved wetland in China. As an ecosystem, it has a strong sedimentation and purification effect on air and water quality. It was also covered by sea water several years ago, and its groundwater is still salty up to now. Later, the reeds came here and became the corner of the largest reed field in the world. Year after year, they swayed quietly.
The wetland is covered with continuous reeds. Reed body is treasure, stem is rich in fiber, is the raw material of papermaking, Panjin reed field has become an important raw material base of Liaoning paper industry, and is also the raw material of producing artificial cotton, artificial silk, can also be woven mat, curtain and handicrafts. Rhizome, known as reed root, is a common Chinese herbal medicine for clearing away heat and fire. The buds in early spring are green food, and the reed leaves in early summer are the best materials for making zongzi. The root system of Phragmites australis also has the function of protecting soil and consolidating dyke and preventing soil erosion. Surrounded by the reed is the Liao River, clear and quiet, soft and tough, gradually cutting it into a gentle arc, overlooking the crescent moon. A lot of birds, in the period of rising, with their wings across the reed tip, hidden in the distance of the water. There is a fish's back on the water, occasionally illuminated by the sun.
