history
There are 340 works of 135 calligraphers from Wei and Jin Dynasties to the end of Ming Dynasty, which are engraved on 495 stones. In addition to the masterpieces of three great calligraphers in Jin Dynasty, there are also the works of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan, the famous calligraphers in Tang Dynasty, and the handwriting of Su Shi, the famous calligrapher in Northern Song Dynasty. It can be said that it has become the most complete ancient legal books in China.
After the publication of "San Xi Tang Shi Qu Bao Ji Fa tie", there were different rubbings in different dynasties. In addition to the first rubbings in Qianlong period, there were also various rubbings in Jiaqing, Daoguang, Chengfeng and Guangxu periods. After the Republic of China, rubbings were complicated, good and bad were mixed, and stone carving also suffered a lot of damage. Among the rubbings in the past, the early Qianlong rubbings were the best. It has fine workmanship, neat mouth, black as paint, and bright as a mirror.
Emperor Qianlong once collected three rare treasures, the handwriting of three calligraphers in Jin Dynasty. They are: Wang Xizhi's "Qingtie when it snows fast", Wang Xianzhi's "Zhongqiu tie", and Wang Xun's "Boyuan tie". In order to add luster to these three rare treasures, Liang Shizheng and others were ordered in 1747 to build a semicircular "ancient reading building" around the Western foot of the Tashan mountain in Beihai to preserve the thirty-two volumes of the "sanxitang Shiqu Baoji Fatie" collected by neifu.
A poem of the "ancient reading building" made by Emperor Qianlong said: "Baoji, Sanxi, zufazhen, Haogong, shouzhenmin. The building is surrounded by screens, and the gods gather for thousands of years as the guest of honor.
