Chinese ginseng Museum

China ginseng museum is located in Fusong County, Jilin Province, the "hometown of Chinese ginseng". It is the first museum with ginseng as the theme in China. The museum was completed and opened on September 1, 2008, covering an area of 3240 square meters, a building area of 4116 square meters and an exhibition area of 2100 square meters.

development history

Fusong County is a famous ginseng producing area in China. Ginseng culture has a long history. In the thousands of years of ginseng history, a unique ginseng culture has been formed, including ginseng stories, ginseng customs and so on. Among them, "Changbai Mountain Ginseng picking custom" has been approved as a national intangible cultural heritage by the State Council. Fusong County of Jilin Province was officially named "the hometown of Chinese ginseng" by the state in 1995. 70% of the income of farmers in the county comes from ginseng industry.

In order to publicize and promote the ginseng industry and ginseng culture in China, Fusong County has established the first ginseng Museum in China, China ginseng Museum. The museum integrates collection, protection, research and other functions. It covers an area of 3240 square meters, and the exhibition hall covers an area of 2021 square meters. It is divided into seven exhibition halls: preface hall, history hall, customs hall, quality hall, film and television hall, quality hall and temporary exhibition hall. It displays the history of collection, cultivation, processing and application of Chinese ginseng as well as the customs culture with words, pictures and objects. Exhibits in the museum include ginseng processing tools, ginseng digging tools, wooden statues of ginseng king and Laoba head, ginseng and three series of garden ginseng specimens, ginseng deep processing products, etc. The museum systematically and stereoscopically displays the history and culture of ginseng, its development history in China and the folk culture formed around ginseng, which plays an important role in promoting Chinese ginseng culture to the world.

Ginseng Museum has a preface hall, a history hall, a custom hall, a product hall, a product hall, a film and television hall and a temporary exhibition hall. The history, application, field digging, artificial cultivation, production and processing of ginseng were introduced in detail. In the form of clay sculpture, the museum also vividly shows the whole process of ginseng picking custom in Changbai Mountain, which is listed in the national intangible cultural heritage protection list, as well as various stories, legends and works of art about ginseng.

Collection

There are more than 200 pictures on display in Fusong Chinese ginseng Museum, and more than 100 ginseng related exhibits and specimens, with nearly 10000 characters on board. The highlights are: the treasure of our museum, wild ginseng growing for nearly 200 years; Changbai mountain garden ginseng King weighing 2 Jin and 7 Liang; three statues of "sanshengfu" carved from Huangli wood, worshipped for hundreds of years among mountain people and large ginseng growers; jade carving of "ginseng peony", etc. With fashionable design, advanced display means and rich exhibition contents, Fusong Chinese ginseng museum is an important platform for publicizing and displaying ginseng and ginseng culture.
