It originates from Sanwang mountain in the northwest of Daxing'an Mountains, with a total length of 467.9 km, a drainage area of 15845 square km, an average gradient of 0.97 ‰ and a flow rate of 3-5 m / s. It has 300 tributaries, a dendritic river network and abundant flow. The riparian river basin is located in the primeval forest area in the north of Daxing'an Mountains, most of which are undeveloped and still maintain the original ecological environment. The torrent river is a tributary of Erguna River and a secondary tributary of Heilongjiang Province.

It originates from Sanwang mountain in the north of Hanma National Nature Reserve in the northwest of Daxing'an Mountains, with an altitude of 1163 meters. The upper source of torrent river is Niuer River, which is called torrent River after confluence with Jinhe River. It has a total length of 467.9km, a drainage area of 15845km2, a downstream river width of 160m, a river gradient of 0.97 ‰, a flow rate of 3-5M / s, and an east-west flow in the upstream. It converges with the North-South Jinhe River 1km north of the original Niuerhe forest farm and flows north-south to the Aoluguya estuary, from the Aoluguya estuary to the southwest, from the engeren estuary to the northwest, and joins near the linghoutiandengke Erguna river.
The main tributaries are Niuer River, Jinhe River, wulujiqi River, Aoluguya River, etc.

Main tributaries
Niuer River (upper source of torrent River). It originates from Sanwang mountain in Daxing'an Mountains, 122 ° 43'e, 51 ° 50'N, altitude 1136m.
Jinhe. It originates from the north of Jingling station, 121 ° 16'e and 51 ° 02'n, with an altitude of 1252m. The length of the river is 107 km, the drainage area is 2046 km2, and the average gradient of the river is 1.86%. It flows from north to south, parallel to Yalin railway line, passing through Jinhe town and Niuerhe Town, and converging into Jiliu River in the north of Niuerhe railway bridge.
Urumqi River. It originates at the West foot of Jichang, 122 ° 43 'e, 51 ° 53' n, and 1223 m above sea level. The length of the river is 85.8 km, the drainage area is 1144.3 km2, and the average gradient of the river is 3.00%.
The oluguya river. It originates from the north foot of the west of Jichang, 122 ° 45'e, 52 ° 13'n, with an altitude of 1297 meters. The length of the river is 78.5 km, the drainage area is 1390.8 km2, and the average gradient of the river course is 2.76%. It flows into the torrent river near the original site of Aoluguya Ewenki township.
