Zhigong Kaju Temple Group
Zhigong Kagyu Temple group is located by the Xuerong River in Mozhugongka county. It is said that there were as many as 30 Zhigong Kagyu temples, which are arranged according to the 30 letters of Tibetan, and there are 67 famous temples.
Zhigongti temple is the central temple of Zhigong Kagyu sect. It was built by zhigongba renqinbai in 1179 ad. the Honglou palace stands between the cliffs and scarps, which is magnificent and amazing. The temple was almost destroyed in the war with the Sakya sect in 1290, and then gradually restored to its original appearance. There are still more than 300 monks in the temple. Deep in the mountain stream, there is Dezhong temple, which has become a famous place for nuns to practice in a quiet environment. Dezhong hot spring adds a lot of color to this place. It has sufficient water and moderate heat. It can cure and recuperate a variety of diseases. It is also well-known in history and has attracted much attention. Today, there is still an endless stream of people who come here for sightseeing and bathing.
In the middle and lower reaches of Xuerong River, there are many scenic spots, such as yalgang temple, Zongze temple, zhashue temple, gaze temple and so on. Zhigong celestial burial ground at the top of the mountain is the most famous celestial burial resort in Tibet. No matter the cultural landscape, Temple group or natural landscape here are intoxicating and unforgettable.
