According to the records of Changzhou Prefecture by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Zhengjue temple was built in the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty. It was originally named Kaiyuan Temple. It was the old residence of Li Zun, a doctor. There was a bronze statue of Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty in the temple. Zhengjue temple was changed in Song Dynasty. In Yanghu county annals written by Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, it is recorded in Zhengjue temple's late return by SA Tianxi of Yuan Dynasty that "the sound of porridge and fish is gone, the gate of firewood is covered at dusk, the moon is on the ground, and the clouds are all over the mountain. In the light of the lamp, the dog barks, the firefly flies in the dark, and the corridor is quiet at night. Most of them should go home alone. Zhengjue temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and was initially named Miaojue temple.

Zhengjue temple, commonly known as Lama Temple, is located on the east side of the grand palace gate Hechi in Wanchun Garden. The temple faces south, with three mountain gates; the bell tower and drum tower are on the East and west sides of the mountain gate; three halls on the first floor are the heavenly king hall; and then the three holy halls. There is a large octagonal pavilion with heavy circulation behind the three holy halls. In the center of the pavilion, there is a white marble lotus pedestal dedicated to the statue of Manjusri Bodhisattva, so it is called Manjusri Pavilion. After the pavilion, one Pavilion will be built on the platform, which is called the top floor. The north building can be reached through the curved corridor, and 15 Zen halls will be built in the east courtyard of the temple. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the lower house of the Yonghe palace; at the time of the Republic of China, it was the dormitory for the staff of Tsinghua University; there are more than 20 rooms in the existing Shanmen, dongxipeidian, Manjusri Pavilion and so on.
