Historical story

When Malinghe gorge was declared as the first national scenic spot in 1991, the leaders and experts of the central authorities concerned said with one voice when they watched the pictures and video tapes that it was "like the landscape of Guilin". Unexpectedly, shortly after the meeting, someone wrote a letter to the relevant department of the State Council to reflect: "Xingyi's video is a picture of Guilin's mountains and waters. Pay attention to prevent fake."

After reviewing the video tape and sending special personnel to Xingyi for on-the-spot investigation, the handling department of the State Council decided that there were no unique peaks like fairy peak and general peak in Guilin.

In this way, the "two peaks" have become an important symbol of Wanfeng forest.

Entering the entrance of Wanfeng forest, a national tourist scenic spot, looking to the west, the peaks surround Jiangjun peak, the shortest karst solitary peak. Jiangjunfeng stands tall and upright in the lush forest, just like a majestic and powerful general, who faithfully guards this wonderful home regardless of the day, the cold and the heat!

It's said that a long time ago, there was a vast ocean with rich fish and shrimps. The local fishermen lived a fishing life of "going out to sea in the morning, fishing songs and returning at dusk, fish full of warehouses". It's a famous fishing hometown far and near!

Later, a huge water monster came from the far sea and lurked in the deep sea. The water monster has a crocodile like head, and a big fat pig is not enough to plug the teeth, which makes the local fishermen panic and the people have no livelihood. Because of its huge size and bloodthirsty nature, local fishermen named it h ó ng.

The Jade Emperor saw it in his eyes and was anxious to send Taibai Jinxing to guanjiangkou to persuade Erlang God to meet the Jade Emperor. Although Erlang God made the oath of "listen to the tune but not the announcement", when he heard the people's suffering, without saying a word, he called up the sniffer dog, took the Falcon, rode a silver horse, and saw the Jade Emperor.

After getting the order, Erlang God waved the whip to drive the mountain, and came to the mountains from far away places to suppress the water monster on the bottom of the sea. Unexpectedly, the water monster absorbed the underground Yin Qi in the underground river. After thousands of years of cultivation, he broke the land and came out from the foot of the mountain in the eighth ring. In an instant, a huge torrent carrying the water monster spewed out from the cave entrance, all the way through the mountains and into a river. After the water monster came out of the cave, he spewed black smoke and flames. Where they go, the trees wither, the crops are destroyed, and all living things are reduced to ashes. The clear water was soon polluted by dust and became a dirty river, which was called nahui river at that time.

Seeing that the water monster is harming the world again, the Jade Emperor, Long Yan, is furious. He once again orders Erlang God to wipe out the water monster completely. After receiving the order, Erlang God led the heavenly soldiers and generals to encircle the water monsters in the river. Erlang god throws a dense rope in mid air, forming a net, to cover the water monster's hiding place. The water monster has become a master, and is not a layman. He is not willing to be captured! Looking at the net falling from the sky, the water monster immediately jumped out of the water from the bottom of the river, opened his bloody mouth, and spat out bursts of black smoke and fire, which not only pushed Erlang God back for dozens of miles, but also burned the net to ashes.

Erlang God didn't expect that the water monster's magic power was so powerful. He didn't dare to be careless. He was determined to fight the water monster to the death to get rid of the harm for the people. Erlang God took out the mirror from his arms and said: "the eight trigrams spin the flywheel, and fix the universe by Yang. To eliminate evils for the people, merits and virtues will be passed on forever! " As soon as the words came to an end, the mirror absorbed the sun's light like a shuttle and turned it into a whirling Eight Trigram flywheel. It was as fast as lightning and as fast as a sharp blade, hitting the head of the water monster. After all, what the water monster absorbed was the underground Yin Qi. He was most afraid of the eight trigrams flywheel transformed from the true Yang. He was so dizzy by the rotating eight trigrams flywheel that he had to dive into the underground river to escape. Today, in the middle of nahuitian dam, there are still clear marks of "eight trigrams flywheel" (eight trigrams field).

Erlang God can't give the water monster a chance to breathe. He can take a good look at the mirror, call on the dog, release the Falcon, pull out the sword and chase after him. The water monster was so weak that he could not fight back. One day, he was chased to the underground river, another day, he was forced to break through the stratum and run for his life. It is said that the innumerable Tiankeng beside the nahui river is the best witness of the water monster escaping from the underground river to the ground.

The water monster fled to the lower reaches of the nahui river. He was bitten by the sniffer dog and blinded by the Falcon. Erlang God saw the right time, hung his sword high, aimed at the water monster's neck and waved it hard. Then the water monster's body separated, its head flew into the air, and then it landed from the air. With a loud noise, the water monster's head smashed a huge cave in the ground (the current ash hole). Together with the body, it was washed into the underground river by the river.

Get rid of the water monster, Erlang God thought of this beautiful home can no longer have any disaster, determined to stand in the nahui River, do the people's patron saint!

After thousands of years, Erlang has been deified as the majestic karst solitary peak, which is known as "general peak".

In order to show respect for Erlang God, later generations built a bridge at the place where the water monster was slaughtered, named "H ó ng bridge"!

In order to make future generations always remember the merits of Erlang God, they built a stone bridge on the nahui river of "jiangjunfeng", named "jiangjunqiao"!
