Yingxiu town is located in the south of Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, adjacent to Wolong Nature Reserve. It is the gateway of ABA and the only way to Jiuzhaigou, Wolong and Siguniang mountain. The town covers an area of 113.99 square kilometers and has a population of 5725 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages and 31 villager groups. The total output value of township enterprises is 16.8975 million yuan. Yingxiu town is rich in water resources. In the process of economic development, the town pays close attention to the typical and has made a breakthrough in the adjustment of industrial structure. Yingxiu town is also the birthplace of Lin Hao, the little hero of 5.12 earthquake and flag bearer of Beijing Olympic Games

In November 2017, Yingxiu town was awarded the fifth national civilized village.

On December 18, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Aba Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in 10 counties (cities), including malkang city (cfzm [2019] No. 22): Yinxing township was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Yingxiu Town, and Yingxiu people's government was stationed at No. 1, Guanzheng central street.

In March 2020, Yingxiu town was named as an advanced township in Sichuan Province for implementing Rural Revitalization Strategy in 2019.

Basic introduction

In Yingxiu Town, there are 18 enterprises and institutions affiliated to the central, provincial, state and county governments. The Han nationality and the Tibetan, Qiang, Hui and other ethnic minorities live alternately. All ethnic groups work together to make plans for the development of the local economy.

Yingxiu town is rich in water resources, with good water quality and large gap. Yingxiuwan power plant, Huaneng Taipingyi power plant, Futang Hydropower Plant and other hydropower stations have been built successively, which is known as "the hometown of Hydropower".

Yingxiu town is located in the South Gate of Aba Prefecture, 78km away from Chengdu. It is the only way in and out of Jiuzhaigou, Wolong and Siguniang mountain. It is an important traffic thoroughfare. The town's existing arable land area of 1800 mu, has returned 4950 mu of arable land, Yingxiu town actively respond to the call of the state, seriously implement the policy of returning farmland to forest (grass), due to the decrease of arable land area year by year, rural economic income is facing major problems, in order to change the status quo, get rid of the difficulties, Yingxiu town to speed up the pace of structural adjustment, combined with the actual town and village, pay close attention to the typical in economic development Yingxiu has made a breakthrough in the adjustment of its industrial structure.

1. With the help of relevant departments, Yingxiu has planted more than 300 mu ryegrass in huangjiayuan village. So far, more than 1400 sheep have been raised. The way of planting grass and raising livestock has basically taken shape in Yingxiu.

2. The climate of Yingxiu town is mild. According to experts' investigation, Yingxiu is suitable for planting Chinese herbal medicine Coptis chinensis. Leaders of the town Party committee and government visited Pengzhou and decided to plant 100 mu of Coptis chinensis in Laojie village and Zhangjiaping village. This project will be effective in 3-5 years and bring huge benefits to the economy of the whole town.

The schools in Yingxiu town mainly include: Yingxiu Central Primary School and Xuankou middle school (Xuankou middle school is a new school which is a combination of Xuankou middle school in Xuankou town and Yingxiu middle school in Yingxiu before. Due to the construction of Zipingpu Reservoir, Xuankou middle school is no longer in use, and two schools were built in the original address of Yingxiu middle school).

Counterpart support

Dongguan City of Guangdong Province focuses on supporting Yingxiu Town, while Guangdong Province focuses on supporting the installation of prefabricated houses in Wenchuan County, while Dongguan City focuses on supporting Yingxiu town in Wenchuan County. It is understood that Yingxiu town will be supported by 6000 prefabricated houses. Stone flow disaster

From August 12 to 14, 2010, a new round of rainstorm hit many cities and prefectures in Sichuan Province, including the worst hit areas of the Wenchuan earthquake, which led to serious floods, debris flows, landslides and other disasters, causing serious loss of life and property of the people in the disaster area. Affected by heavy rainfall, floods, debris flows, landslides and other disasters have occurred in many cities and prefectures of Sichuan Province, especially in Mianzhu City, Wenchuan County and Dujiangyan City, where the earthquake hit hard. From the evening of the 13th to the early morning of the 14th, torrential rain suddenly fell in Wenchuan County, causing landslides, mudslides and other disasters in Yingxiu, Xuankou, gingko and other towns, and interrupting traffic, communication, power and water supply. As of 15:00 on the 14th, 38 people were missing. In particular, a barrier lake formed in the Minjiang River section, inundating more than 200 meters of Jiuzhaigou Ring Road and 213 National Road along the river. Roads were interrupted, and a large number of people were stranded or injured Trapped.

Debris flow broke out on the side of Yingxiu section of Duwen expressway, Minjiang river changed its course and rushed into Yingxiu Town, which seriously threatened the lives and property of tens of thousands of people. The lifeline of the epicenter was interrupted again, and Yingxiu Banfang hospital was destroyed.

Earthquake disaster

On May 12, 2008, an 8.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province. Several strong aftershocks occurred several times in the following days. Yingxiu town is the epicenter and the hardest hit area. Most houses in the town collapsed and landslides occurred everywhere, resulting in water and electricity cut-off, communication and traffic interruption. By the afternoon of the 14th, only 2300 people had survived, and more than 1000 were seriously injured. The rescue team made every effort to repair the road and parachuted a large number of people to rescue.

Great changes in people's livelihood

Reporter: I have been interviewing in Yingxiu town these two days. The day before yesterday to Yingxiu's first feeling: great changes. I went to Yingxiu during the Spring Festival the year before last. At that time, the highway was damaged and I could only walk along national highway 213. This time, there was a highway, which was much faster and smoother. When you enter the town, the only thing that doesn't change is the site of Xuankou middle school, but it's surrounded and can't be easily entered. All the former prefabricated houses around have become construction sites, which can't coincide with the memory at that time. It's not just me, teacher Shen Yiping from Sichuan reporter Station of our station. They often drive to interview, but also feel different every time.

What does it look like? The town is still a big construction site, and construction is still in progress. Most of the buildings have been capped. In zhongtanpu village, there are some houses with completed external decoration. The modern flavor is also integrated with the Qiang style. In order to facilitate the overall reconstruction of Yingxiu Town, the residents of the town are going to other places for transitional resettlement, and some villages with faster construction around, such as Xinjie village, have already moved into new houses. When we went to Yingxiu again, we also found some old friends. Our colleague Wang Liang interviewed two old people, Hu Jianguo and Ma Fuyang. Some people have taken over their work. They are waiting for reconstruction in their village. More and more people are paying homage to the cemetery these two days. I met a couple from Dancheng, Henan Province. Their son sun Kui, a soldier of the armed police detachment of Aba Prefecture, died in Yingxiu in the earthquake. At that time, they were only 21 years old. Because their body was not found, they were sweeping an empty tomb. Hu Zhengjun, the grandson of Hu Jianguo, was killed in Yingxiu primary school at that time. He was only 11 years old and was buried in the cemetery, but there was no tombstone. I also met Mr. Deng Junyan of Xuankou middle school. He was stationed on the new site of the school. In order to ensure safety and quality, they spent a lot of time on the foundation. It is expected that the top will be sealed in July. Later, at about 8:30, there will be memorial activities for the second anniversary of the earthquake in Yingxiu Town, and we will also have live coverage.
