Tibetan army cave
According to historical records, Xiangshan Tibetan army cave was first built about 3000 years ago in the spring and autumn and Warring States period. At that time, he Lu, the king of Wu, was in power over the princes. He attacked Yue and attacked Chu. For the need of offensive and defensive tactics, he dug and built many Tibetan army caves in Xiangshan and Changshan on the coast of the Yangtze River. In the 1970s, archaeologists found a large number of geometric and red pottery with the characteristics of the spring and autumn and Warring States periods in the zangjun cave on the northwest slope of Xiangshan Mountain, which confirmed this historical record. According to textual research, the cave is a tunnel type A-shaped structure with narrow top and wide bottom. The two walls are made of stone blocks. The inner wall is 5-10 meters high, and the bottom is 4-5 meters wide between the north and the south. It is tunnel shaped in the east-west direction, with a depth of 25 meters. Xiangshan Tibetan army cave is different in that: first, every three Tibetan army caves are arranged in a group, and the finished products are arranged in a regular shape. There are nine groups in total, and each group covers an area of about 2500 square meters, which is not found in other places; second, the direction of tunnels in the cave is parallel to that of mountains, and soldiers go in and out from left to right, not from front to back, while tunnels in other places are mostly similar to that of mountains The third is that the Tibetan army caves on other mountains are generally built in the middle of the mountain, only Xiangshan Tibetan army cave is on the top of the mountain, which is a commanding position. The fourth is that Xiangshan Tibetan army cave is the closest to the Yangtze River in the "Jiangnan Great Wall", which may be related to Xiangshan's strategic position as the gateway of the river and the sea. After proper processing and arrangement, the Xiangshan Tibetan army cave has been restored to its original appearance and decoration and opened to the outside world.
