Miaoshan
Miaoshan, 7 kilometers to the south of Ninghai County, on the Bank of the Baixi River, is surrounded by ancient trees. The 20 meter high hill is like a giant elephant crouching on the side of the stream. Because the mountain is close to a small temple, it was originally called Miaoshan. The lianghuangxi River from lianghuangshan and the Lixi River from Dawan mountain meet the Baixi River from Tiantai Mountain at the foot of Miaoshan. Originally, this place was sparsely populated, with beautiful scenery. In the past, it was also called "Shanxi".
"Shan" with two fires and one sword was the old name of Shengxian County in Zhejiang Province from the time of Qin Shihuang to Tang Dynasty. According to the annals of Ninghai County, in the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties, Wang Jin, the judge of Dali temple in the later Tang Dynasty, who lived in seclusion in Wulai village of Shan county (now Xinchang Changtan), moved his family to Zhulin village, 5 Li East of Qiantong village, Ninghai County, in order to avoid the disaster of war. In order not to forget the ancestors of Shan, he changed the name of shuikoubaixi at the foot of nanmiao mountain to "Shan Xi", and changed the name of shan'ao at the back of the village to "shan'ao" A ancestral temple was built at the foot of Miaoshan mountain, which is the Nangong Temple of Wubao.
History of Miaoshan
Nangong temple was originally a ancestral temple commemorating the Wang family in Wuyi lane of Zhuque bridge in Jinling. In the poem Wuyi Lane written by Liu Yuxi of Tang Dynasty, it said: "the wild grass and flowers beside Zhuque bridge, the sunset at the entrance of Wuyi lane. In the old days, the swallow in front of Wang Xietang flew into the homes of ordinary people. " It turned out that Wang Jin was an important official of the Six Dynasties and was once granted the title of "king of Dingnan". When Wang Jin moved to Shan county and lived in seclusion in Wulai village, he was still named as "Shan" after he moved to Ninghai. Nangong Temple beside the stream is an ancient temple with two couplets and single eaves and hard mountain beam structure. Four round stone columns and six ancient cypresses in the temple are relics of 800 years ago. Miaoshan towering, three streams flowing east, quietly talk about the vicissitudes of the Wang family.
Out of the temple gate is a plain stone arch bridge (see photo). The bridge spans a 4-meter-wide Qingxi lotus pond. The whole bridge is 8 meters long and 2.3 meters wide. It has five stone steps from east to west. The bridge is engraved with "Hongji bridge" on its forehead. It was built in 1812. After a close look, we can see that it is a rare stone arch bridge with rib arch and transverse tie beam bearing in eastern Zhejiang. Its construction principle is the tenon joint of beam frame of Chinese wooden structure, which is similar to the rib structure of human body, that is, the rib arch is the main body of the whole bridge, so it has good functions of earthquake resistance, pressure resistance and withstanding the impact of flowing water. The four dragon heads protruding from the wall of the North-South bridge are two cross tie beams made of stone, which are tenoned and interlocked with five consecutive main arches. Tourists can find the subtlety of the hollow structure from the structure at the bottom of the bridge, which is like the frame structure of modern architecture.
Characteristics of Miaoshan
The beauty of Miaoshan lies in its location in the middle reaches of the peaceful and spacious Baixi plain, with abundant water, fertile soil and convenient transportation. Therefore, in the middle of Southern Song Dynasty (1161), the surname Zhang moved from Hezhou, Anhui Province to settle here; in the reign of Chunyou (1250), the surname Zheng moved from Changting, Dongxiang, Ninghai, and gradually formed a Miaoshan village with thousands of people.
Ancient village, ancient tree, ancient bridge and ancient temple are merged into Miaoshan of Sanshui and Yishan. Now, it has been listed as a newly developed tourist attraction in the south line of Ninghai County. If you visit Qiantong ancient village and Zhulin village, you can taste the tranquil Miaoshan..
