Former site of Bank of China Nanjing Branch
Nanjing Branch of Bank of China was officially established on November 30, 2018.
On February 14, 1912, the Bank of China in Nanjing opened its business in Chengnan jewelry Gallery (now 23 Baixia Road), becoming one of the earliest institutions in the Bank of China system. During the period of the Republic of China, Bank of China in Nanjing, as the first central bank at that time, issued the Bank of China "Nanjing note", which became the first banknote printed and issued by the Bank of China after its establishment, and later known as "the first banknote of the Republic".
On December 2, 2017, it was selected as "the second batch of Chinese 20th century architectural heritage".
The former site of Bank of China Nanjing Branch was built in 1923. After 86 years of wind and rain, it is still full of momentum. Six strong stone pillars stand upright, and the pattern of the stone platform on the top is simple and exquisite.
