Comrade Xiang Jingyu Memorial
Xiang Jingyu memorial hall is located at 27 Jingyu West Road, Lufeng Town, Xupu County. The name of Xiang Jingyu memorial hall was inscribed by Hu Yaobang and Jiang Zemin, former general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. The memorial hall is composed of three parts: Xiang Jingyu bronze statue Monument Square, Xiang Jingyu's former residence and Xiang Jingyu's life story exhibition room. It now covers an area of 8680 square meters.
The former residence of Jingyu in the museum was built in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It is a five column wooden frame brick enclosure in Western Hunan, forming a quadrangle. It covers an area of 1440 square meters and a building area of 694 square meters. On January 25, 1995, it was announced by the Propaganda Department of the provincial Party committee as the first batch of provincial patriotic education bases in our province. On November 20, 1996, it was announced as a key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council. In 2005, it was listed as a national AAA scenic spot, a provincial civilized scenic spot and a provincial red scenic spot.
Introduction to the library
Xiang Jingyu's former residence was built in the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty. It is a wooden courtyard with local characteristics, covering an area of more than 1200 square meters. In the former residence, there are "exhibition of the restoration of the former residence" and "exhibition of Comrade Xiang Jingyu's handwriting", displaying more than 40 objects and more than 30 essays, diaries, reading notes, manuscripts and letters written in revolutionary activities. The exhibition room of Comrade Xiang Jingyu's life story is on the east side of the former residence, with 41 meters of exhibition line and 84 square meters of exhibition area The used book baskets, dressing boxes, syringes and shoe brushes include manuscripts and letters written during the founding of the Communist Party of China and the first domestic revolutionary war. In the memorial square, there is a statue monument of Xiang Jingyu, 9.4 meters high, with a brilliant statue above. The author is Zhu Weijing, a famous sculptor in China. On the front is "Xiang Jingyu Tong" written by Comrade Chen Yun The other three sides are inlaid with the full text of biography of Comrade Xiang Jingyu written by Comrade Cai Hesen in Moscow in July 1928.
The museum has held such temporary exhibitions as the exhibition of unequal treaties imposed by imperialism on China, the exhibition of the history of the Xupu Party of the Communist Party of China, and the exhibition of Xupu heroes.
Historical evolution
Xiang Jingyu's memorial hall, formerly known as Xiang Jingyu's former residence management office, was opened on July 1, 1981. In January 1984, General Secretary Hu Yaobang visited the old play and titled it "Xiang Jingyu's Memorial Hall". On September 4, 1985, it was officially renamed Xiang Jingyu's memorial hall.
The memorial hall is located in Xupu County in the middle reaches of Xushui River in Western Hunan, covering an area of 8800 square meters. The transportation here is convenient. There is a short circuit between Hunan and Guizhou, which connects the southwest of China, passing through the county. The memorial hall is only 800 meters away from Xupu railway station and 1500 meters away from Xupu bus station.
The memorial is located in the downtown area of the county: close to provincial road 1840 in the East, Jingyu Street West Road in the north, Xupu women's school founded by Xiang Jingyu in the west, now renamed Jingyu school, and youyou Xushui River in the south. The courtyard is green and the natural environment is beautiful.
In 1978, the Hunan Provincial People's government funded the maintenance of Xiang Jingyu's former residence; in 1981, it was officially opened to the outside world; in 1995, it was announced as the first batch of patriotic education bases in Hunan Province; on November 20, 1996, it was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Xiang Jingyu's former residence is a wood structure courtyard with local characteristics. It is a courtyard with five columns and a bucket shaped forest structure facing south. It covers an area of 1444 square meters, with a construction area of 694 square meters. The height of the house is 5.4 meters. The roof adopts double eaves, the lower layer is covered with eaves, the upper layer is Xieshan, and the wing angle is raised to create a unique horse head wall. Beizhengwu, the main building, was built in the late Ming and early Ming Dynasties.

Xupu County is located in the north extension area of the main peak of Xuefeng mountain. The terrain inclines from southeast to northwest. The altitude of the southern cool wind boundary is 1614 meters, and that of the Western Yuanshui exit is 118 meters, with a height difference of 1496 meters. The county is surrounded by overlapping mountains, and the terrain includes mountains, hills, rivers, valleys and plains. The soil belongs to red soil and yellow soil in the middle subtropical zone. The main soil parent materials in Xupu County are slate, purple sand shale, granite and limestone.
Xupu County is located in the west of Hunan Province, between Xuefeng and Wuling mountains. The terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest. The largest peak in Xupu County is leipo mountain.
Personage introduction
Xiang Jingyu, formerly known as Xiang Junxian and pseudonym Zhenyu, is a Tujia nationality. He was born in 1895 at the home of the president of the chamber of Commerce in Xupu County, Western Hunan Province. She is the ninth oldest. Several of her elder brothers have studied in Japan, and have been influenced by them since childhood to pursue new knowledge. At the age of 6, he entered a private school, and at the age of 8, he entered a new primary school founded by his elder brother in the county. She is good at both character and learning in school and dreams of becoming a Mulan hero. Later, he entered Hunan No.3 and No.1 women's normal school and Zhounan women's school. He got to know Cai Hesen and Mao Zedong because of his classmate relationship with CAI Chang, Cai Hesen's sister. After graduating in 1916, Xiang Jingyu returned to his hometown in Xupu. He broke the traditional concept of "men are superior to women" at that time and became the president of a new school, trying to save the country through education. In the school, she asked the girls to release their feet, untie the foot binding for them, and accompany them home one by one to mobilize their parents.
In the summer of 1919, Xiang Jingyu, in order to avoid the entanglement of the garrison chief's marriage proposal and to seek the truth, went to the sofa to set up a women's work study program in France, and joined the "Xinmin society" presided over by Mao Zedong and Cai Hesen. In the winter of 1919, Xiang Jingyu, Cai Hesen, Cai Chang, Cai Mu and Ge Jianhao went to France by boat. While working in gum factories and textile factories, she studied French and Marxism Leninism, and joined the "work study world society" organized by Zhou Enlai.
At the end of 1921, Cai Hesen and others who were in France were sent back by the authorities for participating in the student movement, and Xiang Jingyu, who was pregnant, also returned. The following year, she joined the party in Shanghai, and then participated in the second National Congress of the Communist Party of China. She was elected a member of the CPC Central Committee and served as the central women's minister. Since then, she continued to be elected as a member of the CPC Central Committee at the third and fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China. She has led 15000 women workers' strikes in 14 silk factories in Shanghai and 7000 workers' strikes in Nanyang Tobacco Factory. She has also written many manifestos and articles on women's Liberation Movement for the Party Congress and newspapers.
In 1925, Cai Hesen went to the Soviet Union to attend international conferences, and Xiang Jingyu went with him to study in the Chinese class of Oriental University. In April 1927, Xiang Jingyu returned to China to participate in the Fifth National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He stayed in Wuhan and was responsible for the leadership work of Wuhan Federation of trade unions, Hankou propaganda department, Hubei provincial Party committee and Wuhan municipal Party committee. He persisted in underground struggle under the situation of white terror. In the spring of 1928, she was arrested in Hankou French Concession and died heroically on May 1 at the age of 33.
