Historical evolution
Since the Tang and Song Dynasties, gugang Prefecture is Xinhui. There is a Ziyun Cave on Xiangshan, where Taoism has been inherited and preached. Later, more than 30 million yuan was donated by the Hong Kong "Tan Zhao charity fund" to rebuild the temple in Guifeng Mountain National Forest Park, which was renamed Ziyun temple. The foundation was laid in 1996 and started in 1998. The main project was completed in June 2001 and opened to the public on June 26, 2002.

The project was designed by Professor Pan Guxi of Architecture Department of Nanjing Southeast University and chief architect He Jianzhong of Jiangsu ancient architecture and Landscape Design Institute. Research fellow Hu Jianning, a Buddhist and Taoist art research expert in Shanghai, carried out the art design of interior decoration and statues. The architectural design of Ziyun temple takes advantage of the traditional Taoist architecture and the traditional architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties in China.
