From June 4 to September 7, 1944, the Sino British and American allied forces launched the Songshan campaign, which conquered Songshan and annihilated more than 3000 Japanese aggressors. Our army had 6000 generals and soldiers who died for our country.

You can reach the main peak of Songshan by walking about 1 km along a mountain road beside the monument.
The main peak is not high from the direction of Dayakou. It is divided into two peaks: high and low. Both peaks are now covered with tall pine trees. There are paths on both sides of the main peak to circle up the mountain, no matter from which side you can reach the front of the position at that time. The front of the mountain is steep, and you can see the Nujiang River in a broad view. Here, the field of vision can reach tens of kilometers. On the hillside, the trenches built by the Japanese army at that time have disappeared in the weeds, and some sections are well preserved. Songshan battlefield covers a large area. Dozens of hills around it have left many bullet marks. It can be seen that the patriotic soldiers fought with the Japanese aggressors in those days.
